Day by Day Overview
The safari begins in Nairobi, at the airport or your preferred pick-up location. Early in the morning, your journey to Amboseli begins. Amboseli is a 4-to-5-hour drive away from Nairobi and you arrive at AA Amboseli just about lunch time. After you settle into your room and are well rested, your afternoon game drive in Amboseli National Park can commence. The guide will take you around the park where you are very likely to find a herd of elephants and zebras wandering the plain searching for food. Amboseli is home to big cats like lions as well, you might just find one on the hunt. In addition, Amboseli is well known for its breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro so as dusk falls and the sun sits low in the clear sky, the dark silhouette of Kilimanjaro provides you a chance to immortalize the moment by snapping a shot of the mountain or get one of yourself against the scenic backdrop. You will return to the camp for dinner and a good night’s rest in preparation for tomorrow’s activities.
In the morning, after you have your breakfast, you head back into the park for a morning game drive. This day the guide takes you down the roads you haven’t gone down before, maybe you will visit Lake Amboseli if you had not on your previous game drive. Lake Amboseli is known for the flamingos that flock to its shores for food. Many animals also come to quench their thirst making it very eventful when the predators find the prey there. In the late morning, you leave the park and begin your journey back to Nairobi. You will be dropped off at the airport or at your preferred drop-off location once you arrive. This is where the safari comes to a close.
