Day by Day Overview

Upon your arrival at the airport, our team will greet you and provide transportation to your city hotel, which will be either the Boma Inn Nairobi or a similar hotel. After your long flight, our team will explain what will happen next and answer any questions you may have about your upcoming safari, which starts the following day. Your arrangements are on a bed-and-breakfast basis, which is a suitable option for those arriving in Nairobi in the evening. However, if you arrive early, you can relax at the hotel or participate in various city activities such as the Nairobi city tour, giraffe center, elephant orphanage, or visit the Karen Blixen before returning to the hotel in the late evening. We recommend clients flying long hours to Nairobi consider arriving one day earlier to acclimate better and reduce jet lag. This approach will help ensure a more enjoyable and productive stay.

After you finish breakfast, our driver guide from the company will pick you up from your city accommodation and take you on a scenic drive to Samburu National Reserve, which is located in the north. During the drive, you will pass through the fertile highlands of Kenya, famous for its vibrant agricultural economy of tea and coffee. Stop at the equator line for a demonstration of the north and south, and to use the bathrooms, before continuing on your journey to Samburu, where you’ll arrive in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, you’ll go on your first game drive. This will be an opportunity to witness the amazing wildlife conservation haven, famous for an abundance of rare species of animals, such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and the beautiful oryx. You’ll also learn about the cultural heritage of the Samburu people, who are known as the butterfly people. Finally, you’ll retreat to the camp at sunset.

Return for a late breakfast. Spend the middle of the day relaxing, just like the animals do. Read your favorite book or write in your journal. Then, head out again at 4:00 pm as the day begins to cool down. Spot the Samburu special five before returning to the camp late in the evening.

After enjoying a relaxed breakfast, you’ll drive south of Samburu to arrive at Serena Sweet Waters Camp in time for a delicious lunch. Afterward, take some time to explore the camp and its beautiful surroundings, including a waterhole next to the bar where animals come to drink the water and mud bath. Then it’s time for an exciting afternoon game drive! You’ll start with a visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary and then head out to explore the park, which is home to a fantastic variety of wildlife, including white and black rhinos, giraffes, gazelles, elephants, lions, cheetahs, and more.

Ol Pejeta is also known for being the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and is the precious home of two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos. It’s also the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees, as the sanctuary was established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade.

After breakfast, you will take a scenic drive southwards to Lake Nakuru National Park, passing through the fertile highlands of Kenya where tea and coffee are grown. You will cross the equator again and arrive at the highlands of Nyahururu before reaching Lake Nakuru, where you will have lunch. After checking in to your lodge, you will set out on an afternoon game drive in the park and return at sunset for an overnight stay.

Lake Nakuru is one of the most beautiful national parks in Kenya. It has rocky escarpments, patches of yellow-barked acacia forest, a waterfall, and is home to flamingos, black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, and the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. The southern end of the lake is the best place to see wildlife. The forested area below the Rhinos Cliff is a favorite lion-spotting point where lionesses love to sleep in the trees, and leopards frequent the same area.

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, you will drive east of Nakuru towards Lake Naivasha with a game drive en route. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake located northwest of Nairobi. This lake is known for its abundant population of hippos, Maasai giraffes, wildebeests, and over 400 bird species – it’s an ideal destination for bird watchers.

Upon arrival and check-in, you will take an optional boat ride, a refreshing experience that will take you on the breezy waters of the lake. During the ride, you will explore the diverse birdlife and wildlife on the lake and its surroundings. After the boat ride, you will go for a walking safari excursion to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, a great opportunity to appreciate nature. You will return to the hotel for lunch,

Later in the afternoon proceed to Hell’s Gate National Park for an optional cycling, After the excursion, you will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Return to the camp at sunset for dinner and overnight stay.

Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the best places to observe wildlife. The reserve boasts an incredible variety of animals, including big cats such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and impalas. If you’re a bird lover, you’ll be thrilled to know that over 500 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve. You’ll also enjoy the beautiful savannah landscapes, dotted with acacia trees. Be sure to bring your binoculars for an even closer look at the wildlife.

The Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game animals like leopards, cheetahs, lions, and other herbivores. You can find virtually every type of wildlife in Kenya here. For lunch today, you’ll have picnic lunch boxes in the savannah under a flat-top acacia tree while watching the animals grazing. You’ll continue with the game viewing on-route to your camp and arrive late in the afternoon after thoroughly exploring this massive grassland savannah measuring 1,500 sq.

You have an option of booking a balloon ride today, which takes off early in the morning. After landing, the crew helps you out of the basket and escorts you to a lovely setting for a champagne bush breakfast, a lifetime experience worth the price. Today, prepare for a long but breathtaking drive to the Isebania border post, which separates Kenya and Tanzania. After completing the border immigration process, you will switch vehicles and meet your Tanzanian guide. He will welcome you and take you to the expansive Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, with lunch served en route.

You will arrive at the camp late in the afternoon, so keep an eye out for the millions of animals that inhabit this area during the drive. Tonight, you will enjoy an authentic African safari experience, as the lodge is situated within the national park and amid all the animal activity. Upon arrival, your driver and the camp manager will provide you with a safety briefing.

Please note that the drive from Masai Mara to Serengeti is a true African “massage”, featuring rough roads, and can take up to 8–9 hours, including the border crossing and two pit stops. Alternatively, we can arrange a 4-hour flight transfer from Masai mara to Serengeti.

Wake up to another beautiful day in the Serengeti. Start your morning with an early game drive to see the animals in their most active state. After the game drive, head back to the lodge to enjoy a relaxed breakfast and lunch.

During the hottest part of the day, take a break to relax in the camp by reading your favorite book, writing about your safari experience in your journal, or simply listening to music while observing the birds. Don’t worry, the animals will also be taking a break from the heat. Later in the afternoon, go for another game drive through the park. After the drive, return to the lodge for dinner and another night under the beautiful Serengeti sky.

Please note that there is an option for an early hot-air balloon ride. If you are interested, please ask the tour manager before booking the trip.

You will have an early breakfast at 6:00 am and then go for a final game drive through the Serengeti as you exit the park. After that, you will depart for Ngorongoro with picnic lunches. Once you arrive, you will descend into the crater floor for a half-day crater tour. The crater is approximately 20 km/12 miles wide and 600 m/2,000 ft deep, and there are only two roads that connect the crater rim with the crater floor, one for driving down and another for driving up. It takes about 45 minutes to descend to the crater floor from the top of the caldera.

The crater floor is home to a rich and highly concentrated wildlife population, around 20,000 mammals of varying sizes, including approximately 20 black rhinoceros. This makes the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these animals. The animals in this area are less wary of humans and vehicles, making it easier to observe them up close. You can watch them as they roam the lakes, rivers, woodlands, and hills. Exit the crater to the lodge.

You will head to Lake Eyasi, a vast seasonal soda lake that has been home to the Hadzabe people for over 10,000 years, and it is one of the few places in Africa where traditional life is still practiced without modern influence. Today’s visit to the Hadzabe lands will offer you an incredible insight into their ancient culture, and you will have the chance to learn about their way of life. You can meet members of the community and participate in daily activities such as hunting, gathering, and traditional dances, and also learn about their unique ‘click’ language, which is believed to be one of the oldest languages still in use today.

Afterwards proceed to your lodge in Tarangire National Park, arriving in good time for lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your first game drive to explore this beautiful park, which is considered the second park with the highest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania after Serengeti. You will return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.

Depart at 7:30 am and head towards the border with Kenya via Arusha, leaving Tarangire National Park behind. Once you reach the border, proceed to the immigration office, which is a one-stop border post. After completing the clearance process, you will meet your Kenyan driver guide, who will take you to Amboseli National Park, located approximately 2 hours away from the border. You will arrive in time for lunch.

At 4:00 pm, go on your first afternoon game drive, exploring the acacia woodland, freshwater swamps, scrub brush, and open plains in search of wildlife. Part of the park comprises a dried-up lake bed, where mirages rise from the shimmering heat. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.
