Tour Overview

Nairobi is Kenya’s capital city. In addition to its urban core, the city has Nairobi National Park, a large game reserve known for breeding endangered black rhinos and home to giraffes, zebras and lions. Next to it is a well-regarded elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Nairobi is also often used as a jumping-off point for safari trips elsewhere in Kenya.

Amboseli National Park, located in southern Kenya, is renowned for its stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and large elephant herds. It offers diverse wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, and numerous bird species. Visitors can enjoy game drives, birdwatching, and cultural experiences with the Maasai people.

Lake Naivasha, rising from the floor of the Great Rift Valley like a monolith, is the extinct volcano of Mount Longonot. A unique feature is the thick forest that lies within the crater of the mountain. The crater rim also provides great scenic views across the beautiful Rift Valley all the way to Lake Naivasha. Major wildlife attractions at Mount Longonot include buffaloes, elands, lion, leopard, bushbucks, common zebra, giraffe and Grant’s gazelles.

Maasai Mara National Reserve is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in south-western Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. Its animals include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration. The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers. The area nearby is dotted with villages (enkang’s) of Maasai people. Maasai Mara is renowned for having the highest concentration of the big cats, not only in east Africa but worldwide.

Tsavo East National Park is a natural area of flat, dry plains, with thorny bushes and swampy marshland with the longest stretch of Lava Flow forming best adventure feature Yatta Plateau. It forms the largest protected area in Kenya and home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, buffalo, lions, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.
