Day by Day Overview

Begin your safari adventure with a morning pick up by our professional driver-guide from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala. After a short briefing, you’ll set off for a scenic drive northwards to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. En route, enjoy a remarkable stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot. Accompanied by an expert ranger, you’ll walk through the bush and get up close to these magnificent giants in their natural habitat.

After lunch, continue your journey to Murchison Falls.  Upon arrival, you’ll head straight to the top of the Falls viewpoint. Here, witness the mighty Nile River thundering through a 7-metre gorge before plunging 43 metres below. The power, roar, and mist of the falls offer a spectacular photo opportunity and an awe-inspiring start to your safari. Later, transfer to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Rise early for a hearty breakfast before embarking on a morning game drive across the savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park. With your experienced guide leading the way, venture into the northern sector of the park for abundant wildlife viewing; expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeest, warthogs, oribi, and if you’re lucky, even the elusive leopard and several bird species like the Abyssinian ground hornbill, saddle-billed stork, and grey crowned crane. After a rewarding morning of wildlife sightings, return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation.

In the afternoon, set out for an unforgettable boat cruise along the River Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls. This will reward you with pods of hippos, basking crocodiles, and a vibrant array of birdlife, including kingfishers, herons, fish eagles, and bee-eaters. As the boat approaches the base of the thunderous waterfall, you’ll feel the spray and power of the Nile as it squeezes through the narrow gorge – a perfect moment for dramatic photography and quiet awe. After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
