Day by Day Overview

On arrival at Uganda’s International Airport, Entebbe, you will be received by our professional guide/driver and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your flight arrival time, you may have an opportunity to catch a glimpse of Africa’s wildlife at Entebbe Zoo, which includes rhinos, lions, Zebras, crocodiles, giraffes, hyenas and many others.

Accommodation: Best Western Premier Garden Hotel Entebbe

You will travel to Murchison Falls National Park, which is approximately 5-6 hours (300 kilometers) from Uganda’s capital city. Enjoy splendid views of the vegetation and landscapes on the way and a stopover at Masindi town for lunch. On arrival you will visit the top of the Murchison Falls and enjoy the magnificent views of the Falls as they squeeze through a small gorge.

Spend the whole day in Murchison Falls National Park. After an early morning breakfast, you will start the day with an interesting game drive on the northern bank of the Nile. There’s a high chance of seeing elephants, lions, giraffes, hartebeest and diverse bird species. Head back to the lodge for lunch, then go for thrilling boat cruise in the afternoon, which gives you an opportunity to see animals along the river bank as well as hippos wallowing in the river.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before being transferred to Kibale Forest, driving and passing through a green countryside, traditional homesteads and farms along Albertine Rift escarpments. Keep your eyes out and enjoy a thrilling view of green plains as you drive to Kibale Forest National Park. It is about 7- 8 hours to arrive the park.

Accommodation: Primate Lodge

Have breakfast at the lodge before conducting a chimpanzee tracking walk in Kibale Forest. The forest is known for having the greatest number of chimpanzees in the country and East Africa alongside other primates. While tracking these habituated chimpanzees, you will come across other primates including the white colobus monkeys. In the afternoon, transfer to Bigodi Swamp well-known for its unique bird species.

Accommodation: Primate Lodge

After a relaxed breakfast, transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will be driven to the park towards the south passing via the Crater Lake area. Appreciate the beautiful landscape with hills. Relax as you appreciate the breathtaking atmosphere in the park before going for an evening game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge

Have a cup of coffee or tea then go for an early morning game drive to the kob mating area in Kasenyi. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, lions and other fauna in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon go for an exciting boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. A good percentage of wildlife is found along this channel including buffalos, hippos and elephants.

Accommodation: Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge

With a rendezvous morning you will pass via the Ishasha area and view the tree climbing lions as you drive towards Bwindi. This journey takes 3-4 hours but if you decide to first view the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha.

Accommodation: Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge

One of the highlights of the safari, enjoy a memorable walk through the muddy and steep landscape of the park looking for a mountain gorilla family with a guide. It can take you a whole day tracking these great apes and when you find a family it is so rewarding. Spend some time with them and take some photographs as you view them going about their daily life.

Accommodation: Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge

Enjoy a scenic drive from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to Kampala, which will take 8- 10 hours. Depending on the time of your flight you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
