Breakfast will be served at 0630 hrs at the camp before heading out with a picnic lunch for a full day’s game drive in the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, the jewel of Kenya’s national parks. Mara is full of life with many species of animals and birds, including the big five. Its rolling grasslands and acacia savannah have time and again been captured on film in movies such as ‘Out of Africa’ and ‘The Big Cat Diary’. The Masai Mara is most famous for the spectacular annual migration of over a million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle. Between July to October, the herds cross the Mara River from the Serengeti in northern Tanzania to Kenya’s Masai Mara in search of fresh feeding grounds. During the crossing hundreds of animals are swept away by the fast moving Mara River or killed by the African crocodile. This crossing gives the true meaning of the phrase “survival for the fittest”. Return to camp at the end of the day.

Overnight: Sunset Camp (B, L, D)

Enjoy another beautiful sunrise in the Masai Mara and head out on an early morning game drive with picnic breakfast. Look out for lions, which are found to be more active during this time of the day before the temperatures rise. Other species of animals are likely to be up giving you a worthwhile show. You will have breakfast under an acacia tree before returning to the camp for a late lunch. You will relax as you enjoy a quiet moment at the camp, before for dinner and overnight stay.

Overnight: Sunset Camp (B, L, D)

At 09:00 hrs after breakfast you will check out and say goodbye to the Masai Mara. Drive to Nairobi, arriving around mid-day for lunch in one of the restaurants. Then transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
