Day by Day Overview
Pick up from Arusha hotel at 8.00m then take a 3-hour drive to Tarangire National Par where you will have full day game drive inside the park. Later you will drive to Bouganvillea Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight. The location of Tarangire National Park is 115km from Arusha and covers an area of 2800 square km. The wildlife drinks water from the Tarangire River where the name Tarangire comes from. The park’s highlights include its large number of elephants, climbing tree pythons and baobab trees. Also you will be able to see lions, leopards and many other species of animals and birds.
After waking up this morning you will have full breakfast, pack your luggage in the safari jeep, then you will start to do en-route game drive to Serengeti, with your lunch inside the jeep. On the way you will be able to view the beautiful Rift valley and the Ngorongoro Crater. You will reach Serengeti around 3 pm. Enjoy an evening game drive in central Serengeti where you will be able to watch the sunset. Afterwards have dinner and overnight Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp.
Some of the major attractions in Serengeti are the endless plains and the great Serengeti wildebeest migration, which involves the movement of vast numbers of the Serengeti’s wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra, and smaller numbers of Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle, eland and impala, moving from one area to another looking for fresh lush pasture. Our driver guide will make sure you will able to see part of wildebeest migration.
After breakfast we head towards the far northern reaches of the Serengeti National Park, also known as Wagakuria. We will do a game drive en-route from the Lobo area to the Wagakuria area. As we head north, good sightings of giraffe, plain game, herds of buffalo and elephants can often be seen. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and after lunch will we enjoy an afternoon game drive in the area. The wildebeest migration can normally be found in the Wagakuria area from August to October, depending on rainfall patterns. A long stretch of the Mara River runs through the northern Serengeti National Park and the Mara River provides the migration with its most difficult obstacle. Witnessing the frantic herds of wildebeest crossing the Mara River is amazing. Dinner and overnight in the Wagakuria area, as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested.
You will wake at 5.45 am for early breakfast and to see the sunrise inside the Serengeti. After you finish your breakfast you will do an early morning game drive up to 11.30am then you head back to the campsite for lunch and pack your stuff in the jeep. Then proceed with a game drive in the Serengeti while heading to the Ngorongoro Crater. Stay in Ngorongoro Wild Camp for dinner and overnight.
You will wake up around 5.30 am for your breakfast then descend to Ngorongoro Crater floor where you will be able to see all the big five as well as different types of birds. Enjoy lunch inside the crater while watching nature and high concentrations of flamingos. After 6-7 hours game drive inside the crater floor you will start the ascent from the crater, passing through the campsite to pack your luggage inside the jeep. Then drive back to Arusha for an overnight stay.
