Tour Overview
We set off on a journey aboard your safari jeep towards Kenya’s northern circuit for its untouched wilderness. On day two we set off for a full day experience exploring the land of the Samburu for its abundant large elephants, big cats, and more. On day three we have a game drive in Meru National Park in search of the big five animals. On day five we descend towards the Aberdare Ranges for Solio Game Reserve tucked in between the loose end of the Aberdares Ranges and slopes of Mount Kenya (Africa’s second tallest mountain). Afterwards we visit other destinations across Kenya for up to twenty days – this is a truly memorable safari!

Day by Day Overview
Set off on a journey aboard your safari jeep towards the northern circuit for its untouched wilderness. Arrive in time for lunch at your camp/hotel. Afternoon safari drive in search of game. Its pristine wilderness and great wildlife density offers great game experiences of its endemic species including the Grevy zebras, gerenuk, gazelle, Somali ostrich, lions, elephants and more. Meandering the ecosystem is the great Ewaso Nyiro River, providing safe haven for its wildlife species from the hush arid terrain. A great deal of palm doum and green vegetation lined the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro river. Return to your camp/hotel before sunset.

Set off for a full day experience exploring the land of the Samburu with its abundant large elephants and big cats. The Samburu ecosystem constitutes the larger northern circuit of the Samburu, Buffalo Springs and Shaba National Reserve for the wildlife move back and forth freely without hinderance. Possible extension to either the Buffalo Springs or the Shaba Reserves. The outcrop vegetation in one or the other differs slightly with hot springs, volcanic lava terraces, dry dustland on the mix. Return to your camp/hotel for the day.

Covering an area of 870km² Meru National Park is one of Kenya’s beautiful safari destinations though less popular but with pristine wilderness with various networks of rivers meandering through the park. The majority of rivers flow from the Tana River and are a lifeline to the park’s wildlife survival. The River Tana is the longest in Africa, almost 1000km long. Its here the two conservationists Adam and Joy Adamson decided to raise Elsa the Lioness. Her story was made famous by the 1966 ‘Born Free’ film. Her tomb is located at the Adamson Campsite and part of Joy Adamson’s ashes were scattered on Elsa’s gravesite. Arrive in time for lunch at your safari hotel/camp. Afternoon game drive in the park in search of the Big Five animals and many other wildlife species.

Breakfast then descends towards then Aberdare Ranges for the Solio Game Reserve, tucked in between the loose end of the Aberdares Ranges and slopes of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second tallest mountain. Privately owned, the conservancy was created in 1970 as breeding ground for the extinct white and black rhino species. Arrive in time for lunch at your camp/hotel. Afternoon game drive in the 19,000 acres of wilderness land, also home to an abundant wildlife such as zebras, lions, cheetahs etc. Return to your camp/hotel before dark sets in, for diner and overnight.

Declared a Ramsar site in 1970 (wetland areas vital for the survival of an ecosystem), Lake Bogoria is one of the salty water lakes of the Great Rift Valley, epitomized by a sea of pink and its turquoise waters. The lake is famous for its large colonies of flamingos and its hot water springs including geysers. Apart from the flamingos, the lake, situated inside a protected wildlife corridor (Lake Bogoria National Reserve), is home to herds of striped zebras, greater kudus, ostriches and much more. Lunch Lake Bogoria Resort then in the afternoon explore the lake for a spectacular view of the flamingos, the regions main attraction. Return to the hotel later for dinner and overnight.

Today take a day trip to Lake Baringo for a boat rid on its crocodile infested waters, seen at times floating nearby. Elevated at an altitude of 970m above sea level, Lake Baringo is, after Lake Turkana, the northern most lakes of the Rift Valley and the second of the two fresh water lakes of the rift system. It’s a paradise for birdwatchers with its abundance of bird species recorded within the ecosystem. The lake provides a livelihood for the local fishermen community who depends on it for the fish, mostly sold at the local markets. Embark on a cultural visit to the Njemps community, living on an island only accessible by boat through the lake. The Njemps community are part of the Masai Group but who practice fishing too. They speak the same language as the brave and fierce warriors from the Masai Land. A brief stop over on pokot or Turkana village to explore their cultural way of life as these are one of the less documented warriors of the rift system. Have you packed lunch or return to your hotel for lunch. Afternoon at leisure.

Leave after breakfast for the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the most famous safari destinations in Africa, known for its annual wildebeest migration from the northern Tanzania to the Masai Mara. It’s also the opportune time for the crocodiles lurking in the depth of the Mara River’s murky waters waiting to pounce on any individual animal crossing – a spectacular sight. Have your packed lunch in the shade of an acacia tree at the heart of the park or at your safari hotel/camp.

Experience both early morning and afternoon safari game drives in the the Masai Mara, Africa’s best safari destination. (You also have an option of a full day with lunch boxes). The Masai Mara has the best encounters to offer with its excellent wildlife densities. The spectacular sight of the great migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebras and Thomson’s gazelles with crocodile lurking in the Mara River for their unwitting targets. Look out for big five and plenty of other wildlife. Picnic lunch at the core of the Mara Reserve or at your hotel/camp.

On this day we have our brief stop in Nairobi, the safari capital of Africa. Enjoy lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant known for its fresh, African barbecues. Visit the Karen Blixen’s Museum after lunch. The museum is now under the National Heritages sites and was home to the famous Danish author, Karen Blixen, famous for her memoirs ‘Out of Africa’, authored in 1937 that chronicled the daily life at the Estate, her former home, which is now the Karen Museum.

Descend southwards to Amboseli National Park, along local markets bustling locally produced vegetables and fruits. Against the backdrop views of Mount Kilimanjaro, it’s the huge African savannah elephants, which Amboseli is famous for. Settle in at your respective hotel/camp in time for lunch. Afterwards. enjoy leisure time at the swimming pool or siesta to refresh before setting off to explore the park’s splendor with an afternoon game drive. Up close encounters with huge elephants perchyderms is a great experience. The park is also home to cheetah, lions, zebres, spotted hyenas as well as being a bird watchers paradise with close to 400s pecies of migratory and resident birds recorded. Return to your safari camp/hotel at sunset.

Enjoy Amboseli National Park’s untouched ecosystem with both morning and afternoon game drives, the best destination for African safaris, combined with the famous Masai Mara. Marvel at huge elephant herds in the midst of scattered umbrella Acacia, backdropped by the majestic Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa at 5895 metres above sea level. Amboseli is surely the best spot for your scenic and memorable spot for your souvenir photos.

Travel further south towards the Tsavo ecosystem, home to the man eaters of Tsavo. The largest wildlife conservation area, covering between 10,000km to 23000km2, split into two, West and East Tsavo. The dense vegetation of acacia and grassland and riverine lining up small streams of water cutting through from the adjacent Chyulu volcanic hills render the park scenic and interesting to visit. Arrive in time for lunch at your camp/hotel then explore the park’s wilderness in search of leopards, rhinos, lions etc. The Tsavo Wests’ dense nature, is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 400 migratory bird species recorded each migrating season. Return to you respective camp/hotel before it gets dark.

Explore the expansive Tsavo East, one of the oldest and largest in Africa, epitomized by a flat, dried up and sparsely scattered vegetation rendering it easier to spot its game. Both northern and southern species inhabit the Tsavo East semi arid ecosystem. Arrive in time for lunch at your respective safari hotel/camp. Marvel at the parks’ game with an afternoon game drive. The park is also home to the rare black maned lions, the red elephants and much more. Return for diner and overnight at sunset.
