I had an amazing bike ride

Written by: Private Traveller on 20 October 2019

I booked a bike and took the 5-day ride with Lahcen, one of the guides, on their Atlas mountains ride. This is a difficult ride, but you can choose to do it on a normal road bike, so we had a mix of both, and Lahcen did a great job of setting a pace to accommodate our small group.

It was one of the best travel experiences I've had, and highly recommend renting and riding with MTB Morocco. Lahcen, the owner, went out of his way to help me figure out a train and ferry schedule since I was travelling from Marrakech to get to the shop in time for the ride with the group.

They also offer great rooms to sleep during the tour. Finally, they are fluent in English and their website is really well done. I was able to preview the tours, check out some of the routes they offer and communicate with them easily with a number of questions in advance.

My only advice to them is to consider charging more.

Atlas to Sea in Morocco

Written by: Errami Lahcen on 01 October 2019

Lahcen of MTB Morocco was our guide, he really made this into the trip of a lifetime! I am really impressed at how well he knows the remote locations and leverages relationships to really give an insider's tour of the Atlas mountains, with great food and hidden-away spots on the tour that I could never have found on my own. His enthusiasm is awesome. I imagine the 1- and 3-day tours are also fantastic. For me, the 8-day tour was like a thoroughly rejuvenating escape to just be free to enjoy awesome places, riding, food and experiences without having to worry about any logistics. Also, a great escape from Northern Hemisphere winter. We arrived from the USA and Lahcen made all the appropriate arrangements and communication was super easy and fast.

I will say the trip is definitely for people who love to ride their mountain bikes - you don't have to be an expert rider to enjoy the trip, but the trails aren't for rookies. Definitely enough technical challenge at each area we rode to keep us entertained. Plenty of flowy single track mixed in with more technical challenges to keep you on your toes, and optional obstacles to lifting your wheels off the dirt a bit :)

It was like an 8-day odyssey of dirt, bikes, sun, swimming, mountains, food, smiles, laughs, and adventure. Because of Lahcen's insider knowledge, the awesome terrain, and the nature of the guided road trip, I don't think I would recommend any other tour over this one - anywhere in the world. I absolutely got my money's worth and more would highly recommend the trip to my buddies.
