The Azores are one of the world’s best places for whale and dolphin watching due to it’s remote location. In general, each day of whale and dolphin watching in the Azores is completely different from the last. So why not try to spend as much time on the water as you can during your visit – this package includes four whale and dolphin watching experiences and the chance of swimming with wild dolphins in their natural habitat.

Whales Migration Route
The Azores are blessed with whales and dolphins throughout the year. Some of these beautiful creatures make our islands their home. Others pass by on their migration routes, stopping to feed on the abundance these deep channels provide. Would you like to see the largest whales on the planet? Then join us in the spring – from March to June – when the giants pass through our waters. We’ll be exploring for the great fin, blue and sei whales as they visit the Azores on their migration journey. This is one of our most popular tours and for good reason! The whale and dolphin watching off Ponta Delgada is hard to match. Departing from the south coast of São Miguel Island, we’ll be looking for seasonal and resident whales journeying along our coast.
If you can imagine it, you can do it – pushing off from your Zodiac boat and slipping into the cool Atlantic, you are surrounded by active curious dolphins. They circle about, whistling and sometimes even spinning in mid-air! Our tour begins at the Ponta Delgada Harbor on the south shore of São Miguel Island. We use Zodiac boats, speedy inflatables that ride close to the water’s surface. The group is no more than 8 guests, giving everyone plenty of time with the dolphins.
Before we take off, our team of marine biologists will gather your group for a training session to maximize your enjoyment of the day. You’ll learn how to safely enter the water and use your snorkel and mask. Our staff will also share their expertise on how to interact with the dolphins – to be respectful of them and their habitat. On a typical tour, you’ll get to dive two or three times with the dolphins, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to swim, observe and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. After several dives, you may even find yourself feeling like an experienced explorer and friend to these highly intelligent creatures of the sea.
On these two days the expedition is to find the oceans giants: whales! The whale and dolphin watching off Ponta Delgada is hard to match. Departing from the south coast of São Miguel Island, we’ll be looking for seasonal and resident whales journeying along our coast. The adventure begins at our comfortable facility at Ponta Delgada harbor. You’ll meet our biologists and guides and learn about the different species you might spot during your tour. They’ll also explain how to respect the whales environment as well as important rules to ensure the animals safety and wellbeing. Every whale and dolphin watching tour is unique, we never know what species we will see.
