Day by Day Overview

After a short briefing in the morning, you will head off in the direction of Tarangire National Park. The park with its savannah plains, baobab trees, seasonal swamps and lagoons is home to huge elephant herds. Animals often gather along the banks of the Tarangire River and you can expect to see a wide variety of game, ranging from giraffes and bushbucks to the more rare gerenuk and fringe-eared oryx. Explore the park in search of the big cats, with lions being the most frequently seen cat. In the late afternoon, you will make your way to your campsite where you will be able to spend the night among the sounds of the bush.

After breakfast, you will leave the park and head to the multicultural village of Mto wa Mbu before traveling on a spectacular gravel road along the Great Rift Valley escarpment with Ol Doinyo Lengai, ‘the holy mountain’ of the Maasai people offering spoectacular views in the distance. Today’s destination is the beautiful Maasai village of Ngare Sero, an oasis in the hot and dusty Rift Valley. In the distance you will notice a pink glow from thousands of flamingos breeding and feeding on the algae in the alkaline waters of Lake Natron. In the afternoon you will go on a Maasai guided walk to a nearby waterfall before returning to your campsite for the evening.

An early start will set you off, traveling along the dirt tracks of the valley that lead to the famous Serengeti National Park. Enjoy breath-taking views as your vehicle climbs out of the Great Rift Valley and reaches the wide open spaces of the park with its endless grassy plains. Arrive in the afternoon, in time to enjoy some game viewing in this magnificent park, home to the great migration, the largest land migration on earth that sees thousands millions of animals cross the plains and the Mara River into Kenya each year. Make your way to your camp in the evening.

Enjoy an entire day exploring the massive park and discover why the Serengeti National Park is Africa’s most famous wildlife reserve. Depending on what you decide, you will either go on a full day game drive or join an early morning and an afternoon game drive. Search for the animals you have come to see, including the big five. Depending on the time of year, you can also search for the migrating herds. Either way, you can expect to see amazing wildlife sightings and experience exciting encounters that will create memories that will last a lifetime. The Seronera area of the park, where you will be, is the best place to spot the African leopard. Later you will make your way to your campsite where you will be able to sleep under the stars.

Enjoy your final morning game drive in the Serengeti as you search for any of the animals you have yet to see. The cooler temperatures in the morning mean the animals are more active and provide a good opportunity for you to see a lot of game. After lunch, you will leave the plains and travel to the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to your camp that rests on the edge of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, offering amazing views and the perfect spot for a refreshing sundowner at sunset.

Rise early, at daybreak and descend into the collapsed volcano along a steep path that takes you 600m down to the crater floor. The slopes are forested but soon the landscape changes to savannah dotted with the occasional acacia tree. The wildlife in the crater is diverse and varied, allowing you to see the entire big five among the other beautiful creatures that inhabit this breathtaking world encircled by the towering rim walls. There are also more then 500 bird species in the area, offering amazing bird watching opportunities. Later you will enjoy a picnic lunch before leaving the crater and traveling to Mto wa Mbu where you will camp for the night.

After a leisurely breakfast, you will start your return journey to Arusha, arriving around midday. You will be dropped off in the city center or at the airport, depending on your travel plans, marking the end of your trip.
