Day by Day Overview

You will enjoy breakfast early and leave Kampala afterwards for the drive to Kibale National Park, in our 4×4 safari vehicle, which takes approximately 6 hours. You drive via Fort Portal for lunch when you can enjoy cultural cuisine. Drive to Kibale National Park, an area most popular for its magical crater lakes views, but first head off to Amabere Caves.

After having your breakfast, chimpanzee tracking will be your wildlife adventure to enjoy at Kibale Forest National Park today. First, get oriented about chimp trekking rules and at 8:00 am, start a chimp walk to see the chimps for a magical chimp encounter, as well as seeing butterflies, birds, and other primates. At 2:00 pm you start your Bigodi walk, a local community project nearby Kibale National Park and a rich place to also keep an eye on primates and birds like the blue turacos.

Today’s wildlife adventure is in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have access to Queen Elizabeth via Fort Portal city, a 3-4 hours drive, arriving early for lunch. This is followed by a 2:00 pm launch trip on the Kazinga channel, which takes 2-3 hours and can be exciting as it incorporates amazing experiences like photo taking, game viewing – mainly sighting hippos and crocodiles – and bird watching mostly spotting bee-eaters, fish eagles and kingfishers.

Have an early breakfast then enjoy more wildlife adventures on a game drive to see elephants, lions, buffaloes, antelopes and birds. Afterwards transfer to Buhoma in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which takes 3-4 hrs via Ishasha where you may spot tree climbing lion.

After breakfast, meet up with your guide and transfer to Buhoma for an orientation about gorilla trekking regulations, from 7:00 am to 8:00 am, when the actual trek commences. While on a trek to see gorillas, feel free to ask your guide as many questions as you want. Upon finding the family of gorillas, have in-depth experience as you watch them go about their daily behaviors. After your 2-6 hours gorilla trek and 1-hour magical encounter, walk back to your accommodation. Relax and then later in the afternoon, enjoy a a short cultural walk to the Batwa community for an authentic African cultural experience.

Today you head to Lake Mburo National Park, the only park that offers horseback rides. On the 5-hour drive to Lake Mburo stop in Mbarara for delicious cultural cuisine during lunchtime. Afterward head off for an afternoon game drive to spot as many zebras as you can, impalas, birds and much more.

After having a cup of tea or coffee, leave for a horseback riding or game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. Later exit the park via Masaka with a visit to the Equator and lunch at Masaka. Drop off to Kampala or Entebbe at the end of your 7-day wildlife adventure.
