Day by Day Overview

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our Ganyana safari driver/guide will meet and greet then transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe in order for you relax after the long journey. Later have dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: Best Western Premier Garden Hotel/ Admas Grand Hotel

Our Ganyana safari driver/ guide will pick you from the hotel very early in the morning for the drive to Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest and oldest national park. Four of the big five can be spotted here – lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard – and many other animals. Stopover at Nakasongola where you will have lunch then transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a sanctuary for rhinos. Enjoy a glimpse of the white rhino alongside some birding around the vicinity and later continue on the road to Murchison Falls National Park. Later head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: Fort Murchison Lodge

On this day you will enjoy breakfast in the wilderness. Head out for an early morning game drive at 6.00 am, spot animals like lions, elephants, buffalos, leopard among others and different bird species. Head back to the lodge for lunch. Later enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile to the bottom of the magnificent Murchison Falls where the Nile plunges through a narrow crevice. You will be able to see the Nile crocodile, hippos and a variety of bird species. Later in the evening game drive in the northern sector of the park. On a good day, you will see animals like buffaloes, antelopes, lions, elephants and many more. Bird species may include the black chest snake eagle, blue napped mouse birds, the secretary bird and many more. Dinner and overnight.

Early morning after breakfast, the head to the top of the Falls. Continue driving through the undulating highlands of southwestern Uganda on our way to the greener and beautiful Fort Portal area. Have lunch in Fort Portal. Reach the park and go for nature walk in Bigodi Swamp. Head to the lodge and relax, later have dinner and overnight.

Our day starts with an early breakfast before meeting our tour guide on a briefing of chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest. We then head off on foot to track the chimpanzees of Kibale National Park, home to an impressive 500 chimpanzees. The dense jungles are considered the best place to view chimpanzees in Africa, which are commonly found feeding on fig tree fruits in the game park. The guided walk offers a great opportunity to learn more about chimpanzees and other primates along with the various creatures of the jungle. Kibale National Park covers 795 km squared which is mostly equatorial rainforest terrain. This national park is home to numerous forest wildlife species, boasting one of the highest concentrations of primates in the world. The 13 primate species include black and white colobus monkeys.

Today, you will wake up ready for breakfast and check out of your lodge. You will then embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive ready for lunch and later on the evening, pay a visit to the salt lakes of Katwe and tour the local community. You will head to the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

At 6.00 am wake up for an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park exploring the area along Kasenyi and Queens’s Mile. Wildlife sightings include elephants, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs and various bird species. Afterwards head back to the lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon, you will embark on a two-hour boat trip on Kazinga channel, getting up close to hippos, buffalos and other wildlife. The boat trip offers excellent bird watching opportunities as well as the chance to see elephants, warthogs and kobs. The banks of the channel are home to a rich variety of wildlife. This ride will leave you with an amazing experience on water. When back on the shores, you can still have an evening game drive which is optional, then ride back to the lodge for dinner and night.

This morning, check out of the lodge and set out for a game drive in the Ishasha area, bracing yourself for a chance to see the rare tree-climbing lions, which can sometimes be seen lounging in the fig trees during mid-morning as they rest from the previous night strenuous hunt! However, it is not a guarantee that the lions will be seen – sometimes it depends on the luck and time of reaching the area. Afterwards proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in preparation for your next day’s gorilla trek.

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing with your packed lunch and later head off on your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek can take 4-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After trekking, meet your driver and transfer back to the hotel where you will unwind as you reflect on the memorable gorilla trek.

After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Bunyonyi, which is one of the deepest lakes in Africa. Lake Bunyonyi has almost 32 islands and is a good stop over for relaxation from trekking mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, you will go on a boat ride, which will enable you to visit most of the islands on the lake. Each island is named according to the bird species found on the island and some were named because of their purposes, for example Punishment Island, which is the smallest and was used by the Bakiga people to drop their girls who got pregnant before marriage. You will also learn a lot more about the islands and the people that inhabit the. After the boat ride, return back to the lodge for relaxation while you watch the beautiful sunset.

Breakfast will be served early, then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. After lunch in the afternoon enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Head back at the lodge, relax in the evening and have dinner.

On this day, you will wake up ready for breakfast. As we drive along Mpigi-Masaka highway, we will make a stopover at the Equator to take photos and buy some souvenirs. Transfer to Jinja, the first industrial town of Uganda. You will visit the source of the Nile, where you can enjoy an evening sunset boat ride with the chance to see the mighty River Nile (the longest river in Africa), starting its journey all the way to the Mediterranean. Later head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: 2 Friends Guest House Jinja

After breakfast, enjoy white water rafting on the Nile. Later head out for tubing on the Nile and enjoy more of adrenaline drifting on the Nile right at its source. After these activities you will embark on your journey back to Entebbe.
