Day by Day

Day 1: Arrival in Ljubljana - Loški Potok

• Arrival at Ljubljana airport, reception and transfer to Loški Potok
• Dinner and accommodation.

Day 2: Loški Potok - Nature Reserve Škocjanski Zatok - Loški Potok

• Breakfast
• Travel to the coast and Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve, a 122 hectare Mediterranean wetland, the largest brackish swamp in Slovenia and an important bird area. With its diversity of freshwater and swamp habitats it's a paradise for a multitude of animal and plant species. Visit the Reserve and enjoy birdwatching with a professional guide
• In the afternoon return to Loški Potok. This evening is our bear watching activity - head into the woods to watch from a safe place, everything crossed that we see the brown bear, which usually feeds at this time of day. If you're lucky to see them it's an incredible and memorable experience. Please note, however, that seeing bears is not guaranteed 
• Dinner and accommodation

Day 3: Loški Potok - Cerknica Lake - Ljubljana

• Breakfast
• Trip to the intermittent Cerknica Lake (in summer with little or no water), with its exceptional biodiversity, home to numerous species of birds, mammals, butterflies and amphibians. It's a strong magnet for birds with more than half of all European bird species observed in this area. Spend time birdwatching in this amazing place
• Drive to Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital, for a two night stay
• Dinner and accommodation

Day 4: Ljubljana

• Breakfast and day at leisure in Ljubljana. The Slovenian capital is an architectural gem with mixtures of baroque style, modernist Art Nouveau and the work of the architect Joze Plecnik amongst its special treasures. Visit Ljubljana Castle for beautiful views of the city
• Dinner and accommodation

Day 5: Ljubljana - Airport

• After breakfast, free time until your transfer to Ljubljana airport

• Hrib-Loški Potok (2 nights): Hotel Hrib 14 3* or similar
