Day by Day Overview

Land at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be met by one of our representatives and taken to your hotel for dinner.

Overnight at Ngara Sero Mountain Lodge/similar

You will have an early breakfast before driving to Arusha National Park for a full day of game viewing. The park houses varied ecosystems and spectacular views of Mount Meru, the crater that gives the region its name. Game viewing around the Momela Lakes at a relaxed pace allows you to see and photograph the many flamingos and other birds at the lake. Pass through the forest in the hopes of finding the rare black & white colobus monkeys playing in the canopy. In the afternoon you will return to your lodge.

Overnight at Ngara Sero Mountain Lodge/similar

Have a leisurely breakfast followed by a short safari briefing and head out to Tarangire National Park. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Thereafter enjoy an afternoon game drive through a landscape dotted with baobab trees and umbrella-thorn acacias. Visit Silalei Swamp and Tarangire River, famous for attracting some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa.

You will have a full day of game viewing in the park with morning and afternoon game drives. Enjoy a hearty lunch in the early afternoon in between your drives. The Tarangire River helps support large populations of animals all year round even during the dry season so the game viewing is always excellent, providing great photographic opportunities all day.

After breakfast you will leave the lodge for your final game drive to explore the park once more before making your way to Mto wa Mbu for a guided tour through this village, home to more then 100 different Tanzanian tribes. This crater is the largest unbroken volcanic caldera on earth and houses an extremely diverse world of wildlife within its boundaries. Enjoy a picnic breakfast after making your way into the crater followed by a visit to the hippo pool near the Mandusi Swamp. Later a picnic lunch before some more game viewing before you head back to camp.

An early breakfast will be served at the lodge before you make your way into the crater for your final chance to explore the magnificent crater before driving to the eastern plains of Serengeti via the Gol Kopjes and a visit to Oldupai Gorge. Driving through the Gol Kopjes is always a breathtaking experience with views of the vast open plains and filled with amazing wildlife. This is gazelle country and therefore there is always a chance to see cheetah. Later make your way to your lodge for the evening.

Enjoy a full day of game viewing, exploring the central and eastern serengeti plains. Enjoy morning and afternoon drives on either side of a midday lunch allowing you to see as much as possible in this famous reserve. Leave early in the morning, before sunrise to capture the beautiful sunrise as it wakes the African bush before your eyes. Enjoy a picnic breakfast before searching for the largest herds of wildebeest and zebra on earth. Visit the Retima hippo pool and the Maasai, Sametu and Moru Kopjes. The Central Serengeti and Seronera River Valley is home to an abundance of wildlife, all proving excellent opportunities to take spectacular photographs.

After an early breakfast, drive to the northern Serengeti with game viewing en-route and arrive at your new camp for lunch. You will spend your next three nights in this area, enjoying the photographic opportunities created by the Mara River with its dramatic river crossing scenes. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, making your way to the river to see if the migrating herds have arrived for their annual river crossing.

After an early breakfast you will leave the lodge and enjoy a full day of game drives in northern serengeti. You will depart the camp at first light for a big day in search of the herds of wildebeest and zebra. Alternatively, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge and depart later. Make your way to the Mara River to witness the spectacular scenes as the herds cross the river. This can take patience as you wait for the wildebeest to build up their courage. Enjoy a picnic lunch alongside the river so not to miss the drama if they decide to make the crossing.

Depart the camp at first light for your final chance to witness the crossing. The herds are hesitant to cross because of the strong current and the crocodiles in the water, so they may not have crossed yet. Take photographs of the spectacles as they unfold in front of you in a wildlife scene like no other on the planet. Enjoy a midday lunch before viewing more wildlife around Mara River and explore the Wogakuria Kopjes in the late afternoon to capture the sunset and the beautiful surroundings.

An early breakfast at the camp before leaving for the bushairstrip with some game viewing en-route. Board your flight to Arusha, flying over the park and seeing it from the air. In Arusha, enjoy a cultural lunch and shop for some souvenirs before heading to Ngara Sero Mountain lodge for the day to relax. Enjoy an early dinner and head to the airport for your flight.
