Ndzanga Sangha National Park
The protected areas of Ndzanga- Sangha (APDS) are internationally known for the beauty of its tropical forest and the remarkable animal diversity found there. The gorillas of the west plains, the elephants of the forest, the bongos, the buffaloes and a multitude of bird species are easily watched. The local culture is very rich, especially through secular traditions perpetuated by a group of Ndzanga-Sangha fishermen and hunters- Ba’aka pygmy harvesters. Parallel to efforts made to conserve biodiversity and support to local community development, the protected areas bring active promotion of ecotourism and scientific research. You are offered an expansive tourist activity and a quality accommodation with a view on the Sangha. Sharing boundaries with Cameroon, and the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), the protected areas of Ndzanga-Sangha are the integral part of the Tri-national of the Sangha, one of the most important trans-border sites in the Congo Basin. This whole lot formed by three bordering national parks (Nouabalé-Ndoki in Congo, Lobéké in Cameroon and Ndzangha-Ndoki in CAR) and their outlying areas is today involved in the process of nomination as the world heritage Site of UNESCO. Excursion to other destinations of other national parks can be organized from Ndzangha- Sangha.
