One of the oldest national parks in Sri Lanka, Udawalawe National Park is the only place where an elephant sighting is guaranteed on every single safari drive. There are around 600 to 700 elephants and it’s not unusual to see large herds gather to drink and feed. In addition there are spotted deer, monitor lizards, sambar deer, wild boar, common langurs, jackals, toddy cats, toque macaque as well as 183 species of birds including the endemic Sri Lanka junglefowl, brown-capped babbler and malabar pied hornbill. Mahoora Private Tented Camp is set up in the borders of Udawalawe National Park making it easier for our guests to enjoy the flora and fauna found inside the park. We provide luxury tented accommodation and safaris accompanied by expert guides and luxury safari jeeps.
