Big Game Safari Camp Yala is located in a small forest surrounded by a vast array of flora and fauna unique to the area. It borders Yala National Park (10-minute drive to the ticket office), which makes it feel like being right inside the park. One of the most visited national parks in Sri Lanka, Yala National Park is home to a high population of Sri Lankan leopards, with a density as high as one leopard per square kilometer in Block 1, of the park as well as sloth bear and elephants. Early mornings and late evenings are the best times for wildlife viewing and photography or filming.
