You’ll arrive at the airport in Palma, Mallorca’s capital and largest city, collect your rental car and head along the island’s southwest coast to your accommodation in a small, coastal city.
After the past days full of adventurous activities, today is the perfect day to relax and discover the beautiful beaches of the island. Every beach and cove you visit seems better than the last. You think that one can’t out shine the next and the next day, you realize you are wrong again. It is a wonderful madness.
Cala Agulla: a beautiful beach surrounded by pine trees and mountains , located in the municipality of Capdepera about 80 km away from Palma. The crystal clear water is presented with light blue tones, making it an ideal place to go swimming or practice water sports. There is a route to walk to Cala Mesquida , passing through Cala Moltó , frequented by nudists. There is a small beach bar and parking. To get there you must use the road from Manacor to Capdepera and exit towards Cala Rajada.
Portals Vells: This beach of fine sand enjoys great popularity among the residents of Mallorca and family groups. In the sandy bays with crystal clear water, there are numerous caves to explore. There is a kiosk that offers snacks, a small restaurant and sanitary facilities . Many large yachts visit this beach during the summer. There are only limited parking spaces available.
Cala de Sa Calobra: It is difficult not to fall in love without remedy of this small cove. We are in the Sierra de Tramontana and this incredible paradise has formed at the mouth of a torrent enclosed between two cliffs 200 meters high . The complex is so spectacular that, every summer, it is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists who arrive here by car and by boat. It’s recommended to get up early if you don’t want to suffer from the vertiginous access road. Actually, it is called Cala Torrent de Pareis but it is better known as Cala Sa Calobra. Do not forget your snorkel kit because you will need it. The transparency of water gives us on this beach many meters of visibility underwater. Cala Tuent does not fall short in beauty. Much less frequented than its neighbor Sa Calobra, this pebble beach and surrounded by vegetation, boasts a super intense emerald green color. The environment is unbeatable. A mountain frame among which stands out the Puig Major, the highest peak of all the Balearic Islands with its 1,445 meters high.
S’Amarador Beach: In the famous place of Cala Mondragó, we find this small virgin paradise with turquoise waters and surrounded by pine trees. A beautiful and quiet shallow sea inlet. This beautiful beach of fine sand belongs to the Natural Park of Mondragó . A fantastic natural space of great landscape diversity. But Playa S’Amarador is not alone. Next to it is another beauty, Cala de ses Fonts de n’Alís, also called Cala Mondragó. It has restaurants and other tourist services, which makes S ́Amador much less frequented. Cala Varques: is completely surrounded by cliffs and, despite its small size, it has an incredible expanse of the bathing area with that color… guess what? Yes! Turquoise blue. The coolest thing about visiting this beach is walking the rocky cliffs on foot. Only from here you will have the best views of the beach and you can access to the so-called Natural Bridge. A curious bridge-shaped rock a few minutes from Cala Varques.
This activity will start with a welcome drink (sangria, sparkling orange drink or water). Straight after that, you will have time to visit the Rancho Grande Park where there are over 100 horses, some donkeys, mules, a cow called Maria, Mallorcan black pigs and their little piglets, as well as some exotic animals – iguana, ostriches, lamas, playful little monkeys, colorful Ara parrots, and a beautiful cockatoo Shakira. Then it will be time to head to the stables so you can saddle up and get started with the horse riding.
On arrival back at the ranch you will be served a BBQ dinner (Mallorcan style) which will consist of: Spicy chicken kebab on a stick, pork chops, salad, jacket potato, typical Mallorcan bread with garlic mayonnaise and ice-cream. Drinks are included during the dinner and you can choose from wine, sangria, sparkling orange drink and water (a vegetarian option is also available: vegetarian burger). After dinner, everyone is welcomed to the charming all fresco patio to sing and dance along to our live music as well as to learn at least one line dance. At the end of the evening, a beautiful experience not to be missed -The Equestrian Show performed by Javier Simon and his team.
You can spend the day relaxing at the beach or decide to do one of the optional activities:-
Caves of Drach Half Day Tour: A visit to the spectacular Caves of Drach in Mallorca is a must. Time is precious on the beautiful island of Mallorca and so we suggest this half-day tour, giving you time to visit other Mallorca attractions. Our half-day excursion to the Mallorca “dragon caves” begins at around 8:30 and finishes at approximately 13:30 which means you will have lived a unique experience and will still have time to catch some rays at the beach! This tour has two parts: the visit to the Caves of Drach; and the opportunity to learn a little more about the famous pearls at the Mallorca Pearls Factory Shop.
Ticket Soller Train, Tram, and Boat to Sa Calobra: At 10:10 we will climb aboard the first train of the day departing from Palma Station and we will leave the city towards the Soller Valley in the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains. This is a wonderful journey on the famous vintage wooden Soller train, taking us back in time 100 years. The panoramic views from the train during this first part of the excursion are truly epic, with a wide variety of photogenic landscapes as we head away from the city and deeper into the Tramuntana and we begin to pass through the tunnels that take us literally through the mountains. One of these tunnels takes us right into the
Soller Valley where we will make a photo stop at the viewpoint with the most spectacular view of the Soller Valley and some of the highest mountains of the Sierra de Tramuntana. The next stage of our tour will be the 45-minute boat trip that will take us at 1pm from Puerto de Soller to Sa Calobra and on which we will discover the coast of the Tramuntana area. Here we will see dramatic Mediterranean landscape with karstic rocks, old defensive towers, isolated coves, and marine caves.
Snorkeling Mallorca: Mallorca is an ideal location for a snorkeling excursion, an activity that’s suitable for all ages and in which you can enjoy without having to have any previous experience. It consists of the practice of swimming on or through a body of water whileequipped with a diving mask, a shaped breathing tube called a snorkel, and usually swim fins.
Hiking the Tramuntana Mountains or Optional Activities: Today you will drive to another of Mallorca’s highlights: the Tramuntana Mountains. Located on the northwest of the island, these limestone mountains with sharp ridges and handsome bluffs are a hiker’s dream. You can enjoy a medium difficulty hike that takes between 1.5-3 hours and requires no more specialized equipment than hiking boots or athletic shoes. Expect breathtaking views of the coast from many lookout points. You can also visit some of the historic mountain villages famous in the area. These include the carless hilltop hamlet of Valldemossa, the tranquil cove and rocky beach of coastal Deià, and Sóller, with its rickety wooden cable cars and long waterfront promenade. These villages have long been home to painters, musicians, and writers from across the globe. They’re attracted to the area by the relaxed way of life, endless sunny afternoons, and the ideal location between a pine-covered hillside and the glimmering Mediterranean sea. Valldemossa, in particular, is home to the 14th century Real Cartuja, a well-preserved Carthusian Monastery. Here the composer Frédéric Chopin and his lover George Sand rented rooms in the winter of 1838.
Sailing sunset experience: Make your way to the port Muelle de Golondrinas for a sunset sailing experience. You will depart from Palma Harbour with a welcome glass of cava. You will sail towards La Cueva Verde, a beautiful cove with turquoise waters, where we will stop for a relaxing swim, and where you will be able to enjoy a delicious tapas and appetizer dinner served on board, enjoying the breathtaking Majorcan sunset. On the way back we will go by the Cathedral and we will sail inside the Palma Harbour, with the magical evening light.
In the morning, drive to the airport. and drop off your rental car. You’ll then catch a flight back to mainland Spain, where you’ll meet your connecting flight home. Adios!
