Day by Day Overview
On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), you will be met by our professional safari staff who will brief you and transfer you to your hotel for relaxation. You can have an optional tour around Entebbe town depending on your time of arrival. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel in Entebbe as you wait for your next day’s adventure.
Accommodation: Entebbe hotel
After breakfast, you will kick start this day’s nature adventure with an exciting road trip to Murchison falls National Park. Along the way you will make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where rhinos are being reintroduced in to the wild in Uganda. Seeing the rhinos here means you have the opportunity to see the ‘big five’ as rhinos are missing in Murchison Falls National Park. You will have lunch at the sanctuary and some relaxation for a short time before continuing the road trip to Murchison Falls. Upon arrival inside the park, you will be amazed by the beautiful landscape while sighting warthogs and other wildlife on a drive to the top of the Murchison Falls where the views are breathtaking. It is such a beautiful sight with incredible opportunities for photos. You will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Pakuba Safari Lodge
Today enjoy a morning game drive towards the Albert and Victoria Nile and experience a great deal of wildlife and birds. Along the way look out for herds of elephants, giraffes, antelopes, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions and many bird species among others. Later on, you will enjoy your packed lunch and some relaxation before setting out on an afternoon boat ride on the Victoria Nile, a highlight of a Murchison Falls safari when you might have close encounters with animals along the river: hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and many other animals, that come to drink water, refresh and cool themselves off from the scorching sun, and feed on the fresh grass along the river banks. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Pakuba Safari Lodge
After a healthy breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale Forest National Park, the capital of primates such as chimpanzees, baboons and monkeys. Have lunch en route and on arrival check-in at your lodge for dinner and a peaceful rest as you get prepared for the next day’s wildlife adventure (chimpanzee trekking) in the tranquil forest.
Accommodation: Isunga Lodge
After breakfast, assemble at the park headquarters for briefing and then go for the most popular activity in this park which is chimpanzee tracking. Chimpanzees are man’s closest cousins although they are one of the most threatened primates species. Also look out for other primates like black and white colobus monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkeys, bush babies, pottos, and many bird species such as the yellow-spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle, black bee-eater, and mammals like elephants. Have lunch and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Elephant Hab Lodge
Have an early morning breakfast then go for a morning game drive within the park. Expect to see mammals which are members of the big five – buffalos, elephants, lions – and other mammals such as giant forest hog, bushbucks, kobs, hyenas and waterbucks. You will have lunch before an afternoon launch cruise along the Kazinga channel. Look out for elephants, hippos, buffalos and crocodiles as well as a number of bird species including pelicans, fish eagles and kingfishers. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Elephant Hab Lodge
Transfer through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the area known for its tree-climbing lions, on the way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. In Ishasha we will drive off in this adventurous vast savannah area, home to topis and elephants, to hopefully see the lions high in the fig tree branches. You will have lunch in Ishasha and continue with the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Experience a change in the landscape from flat savannah, via cultivated hills to jungle-covered mountains. You will later check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Ride 4 A Woman Guest House
Early morning breakfast then proceed to the park briefing point. Enjoy the highlight of this adventure, gorilla trekking, which may last from 2 to 6 hours depending on the group you are looking for. Trek through the rain forest and bamboo-covered slopes, accompanied by an Uganda Wildlife Authority guide and other trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. Due to the nature of the activity, you will have a packed lunch. After gorilla trekking, you will drive through the terraced hills to Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing evening at the resort with a stunning view of Lake Bunyonyi. You can even have a canoe ride on the lake to discover its scattered islands (optional). You will later check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Bunyonyi View Resort
After having breakfast, start on the drive back to Entebbe (or Kampala) with wonderful memories of seeing gorillas, chimpanzees and other savannah mammals. Lunch en route, plus a stopover at the Equator line at Kayabwe trading center, arriving late in the evening to be dropped at the airport or accommodation.
