On this first day in Tanzania you will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, 45 minutes’ drive from Arusha. You will be picked by our Penuel Tours and Safaris representative and transferred to your lodge/hotel in Arusha for overnight.
Overnight at Ilboru Safari Lodge. Dinner is included.
Early morning breakfast at your lodge in Arusha then your guide will pick you up and transfer you in a 4×4 safari jeep to Tarangire National Park (about 2 hours’ drive from Arusha). It is a scenic drive from Arusha to Tarangire with amazing scenery and sights of the Maasai herdsmen tending for their cattle. Arriving around mid-morning you will register at the park’s gate and start on your first safari game drive straightaway in this famous park on Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. The Tarangire River runs across the park ensuring a constant supply of water and many animals converge at the banks in search of water. Tarangire is characterized by large herds of elephants and the huge baobab trees that dot the plains of Tarangire. Later in the afternoon after enough game viewing you will be transferred to your lodge.

Breakfast will be taken early this morning or depart with packed breakfast and packed lunch. You will be picked up by your guide guide early this morning who will transfer you to the Loduare (main) gate at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will register for you to enter the NCAA. You will then make you next stop at the Ngorongoro Crater’s view point for fascinating views over the crater floor and a chance to take photos. You will then drive down the winding roads that go down the 600 meter walls towards the floor of the crater where the majority of the animals roam – this 21 kilometer wide caldera is the world’s largest unbroken caldera. The Ngorongoro Crater is famous for it’s large number of cats with large lion prides, large herds of elephants, buffaloes, leopards, large and small antelopes, but also the rare black rhino. You can spot all the big five on one lucky day. Later after satisfactory game viewing you will be transferred back to your lodge at Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Early this morning after breakfast or with packed breakfast and packed lunch you will descend down the Rift valley escarpment; a very scenic drive and into the floor of the of the Great Rift Valley. You will register at the Lake Manyara National Park’s main gate and enter the park for game drives for the whole morning until around noon when you will take your picnic lunch at the park’s gate before leaving to Arusha. Lake Manyara is very famous for its legendary tree climbing lions but also large herds of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, giraffes, dik diks hippos and many more. Lake Manyara is also one of the best birding safari destination with more than 440 bird species spotted and recorded. Later in the afternoon after satisfactory game drives you will be driven to Arusha Domestic Airport for your domestic flight to Zanzibar Island. On arrival you will be transferred to the beach for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After your memorable African safari adventure on the northern Tanzania sSafari circuit you will spend these three full days at leisure enjoying a beach holiday on the island of Zanzibar. You will be booked on half board with breakfast and dinner included. Lunch can be ordered from the restaurant and paid as extra.

Breakfast at leisure in your beach hotel on Zanzibar Island then you will check out around 10 -11.00 am (depending on the hotel’s check out policy) and transfer to Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) for your flight back home. You can book on a day room that expires at 06.00 pm (at extra cost) but only on availability and at the discretion of the hotel.
