Day by Day Overview
You will be met at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam and taken to your accommodation in Dar es Salaam. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may be able to explore the sights in and around city.
Accommodation in Dar es Salaam (BB)
Early in the morning after breakfast, your guide will meet you for the journey to Selous Game Reserve, a 4-hour drive. On arrival in the afternoon, enjoy a game drive and witness beautiful sunset views and animals drinking water at the hippo pool.
Dinner and overnight at Kituri Selous Camp or similar (FB)
Have breakfast early in the morning and then drive from Selous to Mikumi National Park, with packed lunch boxes. In Mikumi National Park expect to see animals such as lions, buffalos, giraffe, wildebeest, zebras, impalas, warthogs, elephants, hippos, more than 300 bird species and various plant species. Have lunch en route and continue with the late afternoon game drive until evening. Return for dinner and overnight stay at nearby accommodation in Mikumi.
Dinner and overnight at Mikumi Safari Cottages (FB)
Have an early morning sunrise game viewing then back to the lodge/hotel for breakfast. After breakfast drive to Iringa town via Ismila Stone Age Site which you explore while having a break for a picnic lunch in the area.
Dinner and overnight stay at Zakinn Hotel in Ismila (FB)
After breakfast we drive from Iringa town to Ruaha National Park and have lunch en route. Continue with an afternoon game drive in the park to explore the beauty of Ruaha National Park.
Dinner and overnight at Ikuka Safari Camp or similar (FB)
After breakfast early in the morning, have a full day game viewing in the Ruaha National Park. The Great Ruaha River features large numbers of hippo and crocodile while other game can be seen throughout the park. Continue with an afternoon game drive in Ruaha after lunch en route.
Dinner and overnight at Ikuka Safari Camp or similar (FB)
Enjoy sunrise game viewing in Ruaha before returning back to the camp for breakfast. Afterwards drive to Udzungwa Mountains. Lunch will be served at Udzungwa Mountains National Park in the afternoon followed by afternoon game viewing. Udzungwa Mountains National Park is spectacular with its forest covered mountains rising from the flat coastal scrub in eastern Tanzania.
Dinner and overnight at Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp or similar (FB)
After breakfast, take the spectacular trail up to Sanje waterfalls from where you will have a view of Kilombero Valley. Drive back to the lodge for lunch before heading back to Dar es Salaam in the late afternoon for your departure flight to home on onwards to Zanzibar or elsewhere. This will be the end of your holiday to Africa – we hope you’ve enjoyed your safari with us.
