Day by Day Overview

After breakfast depart from Arusha and head towards the Tarangire National Park for a game drive with a picnic lunch in the park. Tarangire is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It’s the centre of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3,000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebras.

Overnight at Kirurumu Tented Lodge: breakfast, lunch & dinner

After breakfast you will depart for Lake Manyara National Park for some game viewing. This park is one of Tanzania’s most spectacular wildlife areas housing a massive but shallow soda lake, covering 2/3 of the park which is located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitats attracts a wide variety of animals and is home to the unique tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos. Later in the afternoon, transfer to Lake Eyasi.

Today it’s time to interact with the local bushmen, namely the Hadzabe Tribe who live in groups hunting with bows and arrows and gathering roots, tubers and wild fruits as they have done since the stone age. Get an in-depth look into how they survive this harsh environment and the challenges they face during their nomadic existence. The tribe are bushmen blacksmiths, a trade developed over centuries and still practiced in vary much the same way today. They produce their arrow heads and other tools. In the afternoon, make your way to your lodge for the evening.

Overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge: breakfast, lunch & dinner

After breakfast you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view a diverse world of wildlife and spectacular landscapes. The reserve supports a vast amount of animals thanks to its year round water supply and houses a large population of predators. Visit Lake Magadi, one of the main features of the crater with its large number of hippos, flamingos and other water birds.

Overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge: breakfast, lunch & dinner

An early morning breakfast before departing to the Serengeti National Park. An en-route stopover at Olduvai Gorge, the site where the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’ were discovered, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. Later in the day you will arrive at the park and enjoy an afternoon game drive before heading to your camp for the evening.

Overnight at Serengeti Heritage: breakfast, lunch & dinner

Enjoy a full day of game drives in the park and follow the famous wildebeest migration.

Overnight at Serengeti Heritage: breakfast, lunch & dinner

After breakfast, enjoy your final game drive in the park as you make your way north and transfer to Lake Natron to your accommodation for the evening. Go for an evening guided walk beside the lake for sunset if time permits before heading to your camp for dinner.

Overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp: breakfast, lunch & dinner

Enjoy an optional waterfall hike and swim depending on the time your flight leaves. Later depart for Arusha for your airport drop off or overnight. Accommodation can be arranged upon request at an extra cost.
