Day by Day Overview

Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi at 0800 hrs and drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Lunch at the camp followed by an afternoon game drive through the reserve through the endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills where lion, elephant, buffalo, zebra and numerous plains game are in abundance. Return for dinner at the camp and relax in comfort.

Enjoy a full day in the Maasai Mara with an early morning game drive and a late afternoon game drive, each about three hours long. After breakfast, set off on your morning game drive (with your picnic lunch boxes) on the long drive to the Mara River where you will be able to view hippos and crocodiles. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game drive viewing. All meals and overnight at the camp.

There’s an option on this day to visit a Masai village (manyatta) in between the two game drives or take an early morning hot air balloon flight accompanied by a bush breakfast (both options extra cost). 

Morning game drive in the Maasai Mara then return to the camp for breakfast. Afrer breakfast check out from the camp and drive to Lake Nakuru for a night. Have lunch en route before arriving at the hotel in the evening in time for dinner and overnight at a mid range hotel.

Early breakfast then proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park and enjoy a game drive until midday. Afterwards drive south along the scenic valley to Lake Naivasha, one of the Rift Valley’s fresh water lakes with a ecology different from that of the soda lakes. It is home to a large variety of bird species. All meals and overnight at Taphe Guest House.

Optional activity at Lake Naivasha is a boat ride to view hippo and a wealth of bird life (can be paid direct to the boat company).

Depart early in the morning towards Amboseli via Nairobi. Arrive in time for lunch at the camp followed by an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is situated 140 kilometers south of Nairobi and is the second most popular national park in Kenya. Its famous for its unforgettable views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa standing at 5896 m, as well as its abundant population of elephants and prolific bird life. All meals and overnight at the Kibo Safari Camp. Kibo Safari Camp is a luxury tented camp in Amboseli National Park, only four hours drive away from Nairobi city and a five minute drive from the park gate. The ideal location of the camp ensures you get breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro while the camp offers complete tranquility and privacy bringing you closer to nature.

After breakfast, depart with your picnic lunch boxes and proceed for the whole day or head for morning and afternoon game drives where Mount Kilimanjaro in the background offers wonderful photographic scenery with herds of elephants and other wildlife in the background. All meals and overnight at the camp.

Pre-breakfast game viewing. After breakfast, enjoy game viewing en route back to Nairobi where you arrive at around 15:00 hrs with lunch on the way. On arrival in Nairobi you are dropped at your town hotel.
