Arrival of your flight at Kigali International Airport with meet and greet assistance. You will be warmly welcomed by our representative outside the customs and immigration hall, then proceed with a second RT-PCR Covid-19 test (there is a wait of up-to 24 hours for test results). Thereafter you will be transfer to Hotel Des Mille Collines, the drive from airport to your hotel is approximately 20 minutes. Arrive at Hotel Des Mille Collines, the hotel staff will welcome you and assist you to check-in. Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at your hotel, check-out and settle any extras. Your driver-guide will then transfer you to Akagera National Park in the eastern part of Rwanda. The drive from Kigali to the park is approximately 2h30. Arrive in Akagera National Park, transfer to the park headquarters for registration and then proceed to Akagera Game Lodge for check-in and lunch.
At 15h00 take an afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema that will reward you with views of a large number of hippos, huge Nile crocodile and a variety of bird species. Bird-lovers will be entertained by the majestic African fish eagles and a large concentration of water-birds. In the marshes, keep an eye out for the papyrus gonolek and the sought-after shoebill stork, cormorants, and many more. Later drive back to you lodge for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at 06h30, check-out and settle any extras, then proceed on a game drive in Akagera National Park. Plenty of animals can be seen including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, rhinos and crocodiles as well as other mammal species. Known as one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa, the game drive in Akagera National Park provides you with opportunity to view gentle hills blending beautifully with lowland swamps and water bodies. Lucky visitors might stumble across a leopard, a spotted hyena or even a stray lion. Giraffes and zebras haunt the savannah and more than a dozen types of antelope inhabit the park, most commonly the handsome chestnut-coated impala and the world’s largest antelope, the statuesque cape eland.
Picnic lunch will be served in the bush. Exit with more game viewing en-route to Kigali. Have a stopover at Question Coffee in Kigali for a coffee and then proceed to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze – Kinigi, in the northwest part of Rwanda. Arrive at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, the hotel staff will welcome you and assist you to check-in, briefing at the lobby, dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at 06h00 then your driver-guide will transfer you at 06h30 to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and briefing. Your driver-guide will assist and facilitate with identifying a gorilla family to visit. Tracking can be between 90 minutes and 6 hours depending on what family group is assigned. Once you find the family, you will spend one hour with the gorillas, sometimes moving around to stay with the gorillas or following them. The guide will ensure you are in the best spots to take the most beautiful pictures and experience this breathtaking experience properly. You will then drive back to the hotel for lunch and refreshment. Rest of the day is at relaxation. Dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel

Breakfast at 06h00 before your driver-guide will transfer you at 06h30 to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and briefing for your second experience with a different endangered species – golden monkeys. It is normally an easy trek which may take between 45 minutes to 2 hours. Golden monkeys are striking primates with their bright orange-gold fur contrasting with the green rain-forests of the Virunga Mountains. Large and well-habituated groups mean the quality of sightings here is superb. There are two habituated groups of golden monkey, one group comprises around 80 members and has its home at the foot of Mt. Sabyinyo. Great photos and memories are to be had visiting these playful creatures, who seem very relaxed around humans. After this memorable experience, driver back to your hotel for lunch.
Later in the afternoon around 15h00 you will visit the famous Gorilla Guardians Village, a non-profit umbrella organization that aims at improving the lives of reformed poachers and communities around Rwanda’s volcanoes national park through provision of conservation incentives, supporting community enterprise development and livelihood based projects. Gorilla Guardians Village give you a rare chance to meet local people in their environment, with a taste of Rwandan culture and traditions. The community you visit will genuinely welcome you as a special guest while they proudly present to you aspects of their traditions and beliefs. This will truly be an experience of a lifetime. Drive back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast at 06h00 am, check-out and settle any extras. Transfer back to Kigali and on arrival you quickly embark on the Kigali city tour which includes Kigali Genocide Memorial and craft markets. This Kigali city tour will allow you to experience life in the country today and Rwanda’s remarkable recovery a true statement to humankind’s resilience. At 13h00 lunch will be at Kigali Heaven Restaurant in Kiyovu. Later, drive back to to Kigali International Airport, assisted farewell to your driver-guide and proceed to check-in for your outbound flight. Wishing you an excellent trip!
