There is a lot you can see and do on a Tanzanian multi-day hike, from exploring Magamba Rainforest to walks through Rangwi villages and meeting local people in Mtae. You will hike with our guides and discover the beautiful diversity of this vast area. On a clear day you can see the grass plains of Mkomazi as well as Kilimanjaro, enjoying the breathtaking views. During this special walk you will have the opportunity to meet the locals who are very hospitable and welcoming.

You will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha where you will be given a short safari briefing by your guide. Here you will stay overnight.
Early in the morning we take a 6 hour drive from Arusha to Lushoto experiencing views of the volcanic escarpment with beautiful old German sisal plantations. On arrival you can view the stunning evening sunset at Irente view point.
Today you go on a unique hike into the Usambara mountains, hiking for 4 days with Tanzania Natural Tours. Soon after breakfast you will depart from Lushoto town to the royal village Kembago and visit the Sambaa tribe. Afterwards you head to Magamba tropical rainforest where you will visit a German trench cave and have a good chance of seeing black and white colobus monkeys, tree hirax, stunning butterflies and Jacksons chameleons. You will enjoy lunch at Magamba view point and then hike to Lukozi where you will stay overnight.
This morning you head out through farms where you can see coffee and banana plantations and experience the local cultural village. You will have great views of the Lushoto rolling hills as you commence your hike to Rangwi Sister’s Convent, an old German missionary. Afterwards you will have dinner and stay overnight.
Today you hike through the beautiful Shagayu rainforest where you will be able to see the famous Usambara flower which was discovered in 1884 by Saint Paul. You can visit the women’s pottery society to witness them making clay pots followed by a visit to a traditional medicine man. After your hike you will arrive at Mtae view point (at an altitude of 1,900 m) to watch the sunset. You will then have dinner and overnight.
Soon after the sunrise you will catch an early morning bus from Mtae to Kwesimu village. You will hike from Kwesimu village to Irente Farm where you will be able to enjoy breakfast before heading to Irente view point. From here you will head back to Lushoto town.
