Day by Day Overview
On the first day of the safari, you’ll meet your driver guide from Safari Vacations and Travel Services either at the airport or hotel in Entebbe or Kigali. After meeting and greeting, he’ll brief you about the tour. Then, you’ll continue with your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which will take you 4 hours if you are traveling from Kigali and 8 hours from Entebbe. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Dinner and overnight at Four Gorillas Lodge
On this day, you’ll wake up, have breakfast, and head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch. You’ll undergo a briefing about gorilla trekking, and after you’ll be assigned a gorilla family to track. You’ll then follow a ranger and guide to the forest in search of the gorillas, and then spend an hour in their presence before you head back to the starting point. You’ll then embark on a journey to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
Dinner and overnight at Birdnest Resort
Today you’ll go for a canoe cruise on Lake Bunyonyi to explore its beauty and history of some of the islands on the lake. After that, you’ll check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to the most popular park in Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park. You’ll pass through its southern sector, Ishasha, to see tree-climbing lions. Lions in this sector adopted this behavior to enable them to hide from the scorching sun, hide their prey, and spot prey from a distance. You’ll then proceed to the northern sector, where you’ll check in at the lodge and relax.
Dinner and overnight at Buffalo Safari Lodge (full board)
Early in the morning, you will head out on another game drive in the Kasenyi Plains. On a lucky day, you’ll spot animals such as lions and leopards, as well as encounter elephants, Uganda kobs, elands, and many others, especially in the morning hours. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch, embark on a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, where schools of hippos are spotted along with a large number of water birds, and herds of elephants come to drink in the channel. The boat cruise takes about two hours, and after the cruise, drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Dinner and overnight at Buffalo Safari Lodge (full board)
On this day, you’ll wake up for breakfast, and then check out of the lodge and head to the adventure capital of East Africa, Jinja. The former capital city has a lot to offer in terms of beautiful scenery and adventure activities. You’ll head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Dinner and overnight at Adrift River Club
On this day, you’ll wake up early, have breakfast, and check out of the lodge. You’ll then drive to the starting point for a briefing about whitewater rafting. Your head guide will make sure you have the rafting gear before you start the activity. You’ll now enter the river, beginning with calmer waters up to grade 5 rapids. There are different levels to cater for the needs of different clients with different experiences. You’ll thereafter reach the endpoint, where you’ll shower and have lunch. After that, you will drive to Entebbe for your flight out or drop off at the hotel, depending on your choice, and this will mark the end of the trip.
