Day by Day Overview

Pick up from Entebbe or hotel in Kampala by our driver guide who will brief you and afterwards drive to the southwest to Bwindi Forest. Have two stopovers: one at the Equator to buy crafts and take photos and another in Mbarara for lunch. Proceed with your journey to this magnificent forest and home to mountain gorillas and other primate species. Arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After the tasty breakfast, ensure you carry packed lunch from the lodge as you drive straight to the park headquarters. Here you will meet fellow trekkers and be briefed concerning gorilla trekking. Later you will begin trekking  led by the park ranger guides who are well informed and knowledgeable about these gorillas. How long trekking will take depends on the movement of mountain gorillas at that time, therefore it can take from 2 to 8 hours. You are encouraged to carry enough water, sunglasses, rain coats, hats, and to wear sturdy shoes. You will be allowed to be with the gorillas for only one hour.

Return to your lodge and relax. During the evening hours, you can decide to stay at the lodge and rest or visit the Batwa community of which you will discover a lot about their culture and customs. Come back for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through the Ishasha sector which is well known for tree climbing lions and other wildlife species such as monkeys, kobs, buffaloes, elephants, birds among others. Upon arrival at the park you will check in at the lodge, enjoy a yummy lunch there as you prepare to go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. On this boat you will see a lot of water animals like hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and elephants that come to drink as well as different bird species like the malachite kingfisher, saddle billed stork, among others. Head back to the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Wake up early, have a cup of coffee and set out for a game drive in Kasenyi track and others to see the morning risers. Here you will have chance of seeing lions, buffaloes, antelopes and elephants. Afterwards drive back to the lodge, have breakfast and lunch as you get ready for the boat cruise on the Kazinga channel – an outstanding activity to do while in this park. Later have dinner at the lodge and overnight there.

Have breakfast, followed by a game drive as you drive out of the park. Have lunch en-route and reach Entebbe airport for your flight or Kampala at the hotel in the evening
