Join us for the experience of a lifetime, offering you the chance to summit Tanzania's mighty Mount Kilimanjaro. The Marangu Route trail is by far the most popular route. It offers climbers a shorter distance, reducing the time commitment needed for this adventure. Permanent sleeping facilities along the route also reduce the gear required to summit the mountain. The steeper climb however, increase the difficulty and makes you work to achieve your dream of standing on the roof of Africa. Come join us and see if you have what it takes to summit this magnificent mountain.

-Elevation: 1,830m – 2,740m
-Distance: 7 km’s
-Time: 4 – 5 hours
Departing from Moshi, a 45-minute drive will take you through the Village of Marangu to the Kilimanjaro National Park gate. Surrounded by the beautiful rainforest, your guide will educate you on the local fauna and flora as you wait for your permits to be issued. Before setting off, you will be briefed on the days journey and what you can expect. Due to the wetter conditions of the lower altitude, we recommend gaiters and trekking poles.
– Elevation: 2,740m – 3,690m
-Distance: 11 km’s
-Time: 6 – 8 hours
After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast, you will set off for the day, making your way through the rainforest. Continuing your steady climb, you will enter the heathland, giving you the chance to see some giant lobelias and groundsels. As you move higher up into the moorlands, the vegetation will change to smaller shrubs. You will enjoy lunch around your halfway point, taking in the amazing views of Mawenzi. After your break, you will set off for Horombo Huts, your destination for the evening that rests below the spectacular Kibo Summit viewpoint. You will arrive by late afternoon as the temperatures begin to drop.
-Elevation: 3,690m – 4,695m
-Distance: 10 km’s
-Time: 6 – 8 hours
After breakfast, you continue your climb through the heathland as it turns into a moonscape on your way to the sweeping saddle that connects Mawenzi and Kibo. Here you will stop for lunch before crossing the massive saddle. The afternoon trek offers views of the summit that you will be taking on in the early hours of the morning. Giving you a chance to ready your mind for the challenge to come.
-Elevation: 4,695m – 5,895m – 3,690m
-Distance: 4 km’s up & 14 km’s down
-Time: 10 – 13 hours
You begin your climb between midnight and 2 a.m. You will slowly edge your way toward the summit in a switchback formation as you pass through heavy scree and possibly some snow before reaching Gillman’s Point on the crater rim. Here you will take a short break as you are rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise. You will continue with your final push through the snow for an hour, before reaching Uhuru Peak and standing on the roof of Africa. After some photos, celebrations, and tears of joy, as you come to terms with your incredible achievement, you will begin your steep descent down to Barafu for lunch. Making your way through the volcano-ash terrain, you will then arrive at Mweka Camp for your last evening on the mountain.
-Elevation: 3,690m – 1,830m
-Distance: 18 km’s
-Time: 6 – 7 hours
After breakfast and a heartfelt ceremony of appreciation, you will descend to Mandara Huts for lunch. Here it will be time for you and your crew to say goodbye. You will have the opportunity to tip your guides, cooks, and porters before you move on without them. You will make your way to Marangu Gate where you will receive your summit certificates. You will then be picked up and returned to your hotel in Moshi where your journey began. Enjoy an overdue shower before dinner and celebrations.
