This safari takes you to Uganda’s equatorial jungle, Kibale National Park, home to chimpanzees and other primates like vervet monkeys, high contrast colobus monkeys, olive mandrills with their captivating picturesque perspectives. In Queen Elizabeth National Park explore on game drives and a boat journey on Kazinga channel which meets Lake Edward and Lake George, with many well evolved wildlife species and birds.

Day by Day Overview

Meet your safari guide and then set out on the lengthy drive towards Kibale National Park, the best place to see chimpanzees. Have lunch in Fort Portal town and visit the lakes around the recreation area and Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves before you proceed to your cabin in Kibale.

After breakfast, you set out for your chimpanzee trek. Meet your guide at the administrative center and enter the rainforest to launch the quest to see the chimpanzees. It can take around 2-5 hours to find the chimpanzees depending which side of the woods they are found. After finding them, you’re allowed to enjoy one hour with them while taking pictures and watching the different characters. Later in the day you enjoy a 2-3 hour nature walk at Bigodi swamp.

After breakfast, begin your day with the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with an en route visit to the cavity lakes. Arrive at your accommodation early evening and later stroll around the local area to see the Kasoga people to experience the way of life of the neighborhood. Later visit the salt lake and see how salt is removed by the use of rudimentary devices. In the early evening go back to your hotel to unwind and have dinner.

After an early breakfast, set out on a game drive in the Kasenyi region where you will search for wildlife such as elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, Cape buffaloes, impalas and much more. After the game drive return back to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a boat voyage along the Kazinga channel for another sublime wildlife and bird viewing experience as you journey through the crossing point of the Lakes Edward and George.

After your breakfast, begin your drive back to Kampala with a lunch visit at Mbarara town. The safari guide will drop you off at your departure point.
