Day by Day Overview

One of our representatives will be waiting for your arrival at the airport. You will be taken to Kampala for the evening.

Overnight at Cassia Lodge: lunch & dinner

Your guide will drive you to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is located in the southwestern region of Uganda. A 9-hour drive with a stopover in Mbarara or Kabale. You will pass through a beautiful part of the country with some spectacular scenery of the countryside along the winding roads en-route to the reserve. You will also have great views of the Virunga Mountains. Arrive at your camp in the evening.

Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp: breakfast, lunch & dinner

An early morning start that will take you through the tangled vegetation and steep valleys as you search for the gorillas you have come to see. The Bwindi Forest is the only forest in Africa that has both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees as well as five other species of primates. If you are lucky, you may come across some of the other apes as you search for the gorillas. There are only nine habituated family groups that can be viewed by up to a maximum of 8 people at a time and the trek can take anything from 2 to 7 hours depending on weather conditions and where the gorillas are on the mountain. Once you find them, you will have an hour to sit with them and observe their family interactions. The experience is a privilege and is sure to stay in your heart forever. In the evening after the hike you will have the opportunity to visit the local communities around the forest and interact with the locals of the area.

Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp: breakfast, lunch & dinner

After breakfast, make your way back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport. With a stopover at the equator for coffee and snacks. Here you can buy some souvenirs for family and friends. Later continue to Kampala or Entebbe for your flight back home.
