Lake Mburo National Park is located in the western region of Uganda along Kampala–Mbarara highway, just before you reach Mbarara town. It's the closest national park to Kampala, approximately 4hrs from Kampala. It’s often described as a compact little gem of wildlife and is popularly known for its largest population of zebras and giraffes, which were introduced to the park a few years ago. Unlike other savannah park, Lake Mburo does not have dangerous predators making it suitable for visitors who prefer going on a guided walking safari which gives them an opportunity to get closer to the zebras and giraffes. Other wildlife includes leopard, hyena, Uganda kob, warthog and topi.
