Camping
On an adventure camping safari you will be immersed in the Tanzania wilderness. You will travel on rough roads, pass rural settlements and see fascinating landscapes and wildlife. All your senses will be absorbed by the smell of coffee in the morning, experiencing the thrill of a kill on a morning game drive. The safari experience is all the more intense as you are ‘right in the middle’ of it all. The nearness to the nature, compensates for the luxury of a lodge. Our camping safaris in Tanzania offer all of this and are therefore perfect for nature lovers and those who are looking for a break from civilization and its comforts. Camping is to experience Tanzania’s nature, animals and cultures in an affordable way.

In the morning drive to Tarangire National Park, a game park with thousands of majestic baobab trees dotting the rolling countryside. It is also home to enormous herds of elephants and the highest number of recorded bird species for any habitat in the world. The Tarangire River runs through the land, providing a permanent water source and with it the promise of wildlife. After lunch at our camp we relax by the pool or in our cozy tents before proceeding with a game drive in the park.
Overnight: Tarangire Sopa Lodge or Tarangire Safari Lodge
Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The game in this petite park is plentiful and the magnificent bird watching will make a devotee out of even the most reluctant. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see tree-climbing lions. Manyara’s great shock of pink flamingoes will also delight. We enjoy a hot lunch at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge then proceed to the park for game viewing.
Overnight: Manyara Serena Lodge or Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast we’re off on the next leg of our journey to Ngorongoro Crater, the eighth wonder of the natural world. Along the way we drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area—a region created to accommodate the grazing needs of the Masai people and a unique test of the idea that humans leading a pastoral lifestyle can coexist with wildlife. We arrive on the rim of the crater and descend 2,000 feet into the giant caldera of this extinct volcano. This magnificent natural amphitheater contains the largest concentration of animals in all of Africa. Prides of lion, black rhino and elephant share this land with the legendary Masai tribesmen. With the short grass game is easily spotted and can be approached quite closely. We spend a splendid morning on the floor of the crater observing wildlife in this unique World Heritage Site. After lunch at the hippo picnic site we continue on a game drive en-route as we ascend the crater before driving back to Arusha.
Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
