This is an amazing safari that takes you to two of Tanzania's very best wildlife destinations: Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Well known for their abundant wild animals, these impressive parks are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will have the best chance of seeing the big five as well as a huge range of other wildlife, including the endangered black rhino which can be spotted in the Ngorongoro Crater, and diverse bird species.
From USD 900 per person
After breakfast, you will depart Arusha towards the Serengeti National Park and have lunch at a picnic spot en-route. Depending upon the time of year, you might even have the chance to witness the great migration with hundred thousands of wildebeests, zebras and Thomson’s gazelles. During the small rainy season in October and November, you will typically see these herds moving from the Kenyan Masai Mara through the north west of the Serengeti to the plains in the south. After the great rainy season in April, May and June, the herds slowly travel back through the western and north western part of the Serengeti. With fluctuations in rainfall, this timetable can of course change, resulting in the animals migrating during different times and routes. Your guide will try his utmost to find the animals and will make sure that you can see them from the best spot in the national park. Naturally, the migration also attracts predators and with luck you might see a kill in action. You will spend the night at a recommended campsite.
Enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park, where the three biggest cats are easily seen, lions are everywhere and are often found on a kill, cheetahs are very common in the south eastern plains while leopard can be found lazing in big trees along the Seronera river. Great herds of buffalo, small groups of elephant and giraffe and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle are resident of Serengeti at any time of the year. Later after lunch you will drive in the direction of Ngorongoro Crater, As soon as you have reached the edge of the crater, you will have a remarkable view of this impressive natural wonder. Dinner and overnight stay at a recommended campsite.
After smelling early morning coffee all your senses will be involved and experiencing the thrill of kill to chill on a morning game drive. An estimated 7000 wildebeest, 4000 zebras, 3000 eland, 3000 gazelles, 600 hyenas, 200-300 elephants, over 60 lions,30 rhinos and many others, in all over 25000 wild creatures call the Ngorongoro Crater home. For friends of winged ones, look no further, within this caldera you will find 500 bird species including ostrich, kori bustard, secretary bird and many others. Visit from November to April and witness the myriad of migratory birds that take up residence here. Indigenous tribes are permitted to live in a conservation area and local Masai graze their livestock in the crater floor in harmony with nearby herds of buffalo and wildebeest. Lunch will be enjoyed en-route, later drive back to Arusha.
