Depart from Dar es Salaam early in the morning with a private vehicle to Mikumi National Park, 5-hour drive with a stop over for lunch. On arrival you will be immediately join a walking safari as your first experience of Mikumi National Park. This relatively small (3230 sq km) national park lies 300 km west of Dar-es-Salaam and is the closest park to the capital. Although less spectacular regarding flora and fauna, Mikumi National Park is very well suited for a short visit. There is a rich variety bird species as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, and close to the water holes, lions, leopards, and hippos. You can also see zebras, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland and other antelope.

Today you have a full day game drive in Mikumi Natinoal Park, exploring the wilderness while searching for the wide range of wildlife and numerous bird species. Mikumi National Park is actually part of the Selous ecosystem and it benefits from the highest game density of the entire conservation area.

Today you have a half day visiting Uluguru waterfalls and mountain, where we will see different kind of crops and spices like cadammon, strawberry and many more. Mikumi National Park is nestled between the Uruguru mountains to the east and the Rift Valley escarpments in the southwest. After the hiking you will be transferred back to Dar es Salaam.
