Day by Day Overview

In the morning transfer from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, where the hilly terrain is dotted with a thousand baobab trees. It’s home to large elephant herds, big herds of zebras and wildebeest between the months of June to October as well as great sightings of big cats. The River Tarangire, which runs through this area, offers the sole permanent source of water to the different birds and animals. Overnight at Sun Bright Camp.

Following breakfast transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. There is a profusion of wildlife in this small national park while the amazing bird watching experience will certainly be rewarding to both devotees and first-time bird watchers. It’s also among the few places on the African continent where you can see the tree-climbing lions, which will be your main quest for the day. Lake Manyara provides a large flock of beautiful pink flamingoes found in the lake and the park has good sightings of elephants, hippos, giraffes, and a great variety of raptors. You will have lunch at a picnic site.

Following your breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater, Africa’s Eighth Wonder of the World, and a World Heritage Site. You will drive through the stunning Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will see the local Maasai people graze their livestock alongside the freely roaming wild animals. You will finally arrive at the edge of the crater and then descend 2,000ft into the huge caldera. This splendid natural amphitheater has the highest concentration of wild animals across Africa including the big five. You will see lions, elephants as well as the uncommon black rhino, and much more. Since the crater has short grasses, the animals can easily be seen and may even be approached closely. You will spend the morning at the bottom of the crater watching the wildlife. In the afternoon, you will proceed to the hippo picnic site for lunch and thereafter you will do some more game viewing. Later transfer back to the city of Arusha.
