This safari takes you to Uganda’s largest park, Murchison Falls National Park, in northwestern Uganda, an area of 3,840 sq. km, gazetted in 1926 as a game reserve. It is classified with savannah grasslands with the Victoria Nile flowing through separating it into two (northern and southern bank). Murchison Falls is home to over 451 bird species such as the great blue turaco, goliath heron, shoebill and dwarf kingfisher among others, 76 mammal species, a large number of Nile crocodiles and above all the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeezing their way through a gorge that is 8m wide. Enjoy the experience of both safari game drives and boat cruise along the Nile River.

Day by Day Overview
Drive to Murchison Falls National Park, with a lunch stop at Masindi. Afterwards visit the top of Murchison Falls, then proceed to your hotel.
After an early breakfast, you head out for a game drive. This is a beautiful drive across the savannah, Borassus palm forest and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. Drive in the open African savanna in search for lions, leopard, hyena, buffalo, elephant, Jackson hartebeest, oribi, waterbucks, Uganda kobs. Also enjoy spotting various bird species such as the secretary bird, black chested snake eagle, tawny and marshal eagles, carmine and swallow tailed bee-eaters, and many more. In the afternoon, experience a boat ride up the Nile to the legendary Murchison Falls, where the park derives its name. Enjoy these spectacular falls and the crocodiles that bask at the bottom of the falls. Return to the hotel by car.
Drive to Kampal, stopping at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (optional), a wildlife project which re-introduces rhinos in Uganda, which were declared extinct in the 1980s. Then drive back to Kampala or Entebbe.
