Tour Overview

Tanzania’s northern safari circuit is renowned for offering some of the finest wildlife viewing safaris in Africa. Its natural abundance of wildlife, along with the annual migration of millions of animals across its northern plains, make up a flourishing eco-system, which is now benefiting from the country’s historical strict conservation measures. This short safari takes you into the heart of the northern circuit to experience Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Our quality Tanzania safaris are both intriguing and exciting, created by a fascinating balance between the wildlife, the stunning landscapes and the friendly Tanzanian people.

Day by Day Overview

After breakfast the tour departs with the first stop in Arusha town for any last minute purchases before we set off on safari. Afterwards we head towards Tarangire National Park for a game drive with picnic lunch in the park. Tarangire is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It forms the centre of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3,000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebras.

Dinner and overnight at 3-star Hotel/Lodge/Tented Lodge

After breakfast we head to Lake Manyara National Park, which offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats: acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. And thanks to this diversity the small park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible bird life. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world and the lions here are renowned for their tree climbing.

Dinner and overnight at 3-star Hotel/Lodge/Tented Lodge

After early breakfast we will descend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which includes herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo and elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque area, it the dense population of predators, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. It’s also one of the best places to see the black rhino. We will have late transfer back to Arusha for dinner and overnight or airport drop off.
