We pick you up from your hotel in Zanzibar early in the morning at an agreed time and transfer you to Zanzibar Airport for your morning flight to Arusha. We arrive at Arusha Airport at around 09h00 and drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is home to dry-country antelope such as the rare fringe-eared oryx and the peculiar, long-necked gerenuk. The swampy areas in the south of the park offer some interesting wildlife-viewing opportunities including wallowing elephants and buffalos, the Silale Swamp lion pride, and sometimes wild dogs. Big pythons can occasionally be found in trees when the swamps are drying up. You’ll have lunch at the picnic site and proceed with game drives until around check-out time. You then drive to Karatu town for an overnight stay.

Descend very early in the morning after breakfast into the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater offers some of the best wildlife viewings in Africa. Here, all the major safari animals occur in great numbers. The resident population of black rhinos is a real treat as they are very difficult to spot elsewhere in Tanzania. The crater is also home to some very impressive elephant bulls with huge tusks. Lake Magadi often harbors large flocks of flamingos. You’ll have lunch at the picnic site and proceed with game drives until around check-out time. Later, you will drive to Karatu town for an overnight stay.

We pick you up from the lodge and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is known for its large elephant population and big cats are present, but not easily seen. The forest patch is home to habituated troops of olive baboons and blue monkeys. Buffalos, giraffes, and several antelope species are easily encountered on a drive. Enjoy game drives until around check-out time. Go on a complimentary visit to an authentic Maasai village en-route to Arusha. After a long day of exploration, head back to Arusha Airport for drop-off for your flight back to Zanzibar. Arrive at Zanzibar Airport and transfer back to your hotel. Bon voyage!
