Day by Day Overview

On arrival at Kigali International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a Vazquez Tours & Travel representative, who will brief you on the exciting safari ahead. You will be introduced to your guide and driver, and transferred to Volcanoes National Park, a 2-hour drive from Kigali city. Enjoy a delicious meal and get an early night; adventure awaits you in the morning!

Overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel

After an early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters to assist you in identifying a gorilla family to visit. Tracking can take anything from 90 minutes to 6 hours depending on the family you are assigned. After this unique experience, head back to the hotel for lunch and refreshments. In the afternoon, you will visit Gorilla Guardians, formerly the ‘Iby’iwacu’ Cultural Village, which showcases the traditional Rwandan lifestyle, including dress code, food growing and preparation, wedding ceremonies and the various interpersonal relationships within the community. Return to the hotel for a hot meal and unwind after an exciting day.

Overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and briefing before your hike to Dian Fossey’s Grave. Fossey was an American Primatologist and conservationist renowned for her extensive study of mountain gorilla groups. This hike is an incredible experience physically, emotionally and intellectually. After the hike, return to your hotel for lunch and refreshments. After this, its time to head back to Kigali city. You’ll have a chance to stop off at some craft shops along the way to buy a souvenir or two. Proceed to Kigali International Airport to catch your flight home.
