Tour Overview
Located in southern Tanzania, Mikumi National Park is the seventh largest national park in Tanzania and is accessible from Dar es Salaam throughout the year. It was established in 1964 covering an area of 1,070 sq km then in 1975 it was extended to cover the current area of 3,230 sq km. Mikumi National Park shares a border and ecosystem with Selous Game Reserve to the south and is home to diverse wildlife and birds.

Day by Day Overview
Your driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Mikumi National Park, approximately 5 hours drive, with a short stop in Morogoro for lunch. Afterwards proceed to Mikumim, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive until sunset.
Accommodation: Mikumi NP Tourist Cottage (inside the park) or Lodge (outside the park if Tourist Cottage is fully booked)
Meal Plan: Lunch and dinner
After breakfast you will go for full day game drive in Mikumi National Park with packed lunch boxes. Discover this beautiful park with its open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephants and many more. Wild dog can also sometimes be seen in packs here as well as over 300 species of birds.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Enjoy the sunrise on an early morning game drive, which takes about two and a half hours, then drive back to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast drive back to Dar es Salaam with a stopover on the way for the lunch. On arrival in Dar es Salaam you will be dropped at the airport, hotel or ferry terminal to catch the last ferry to Zanzibar.
