Visit Mikumi National Park, Tanzania’s fourth largest reserve, for a wildlife safari in close proximity to Dar es Salaam. This magnificent expanse of pristine wilderness rests between the Uluguru mountains in the north and the Lumango mountains to the south. It offers diverse natural vegetation and a vast array of wildlife, including the big cats and most of Africa's giants. Experience the wonders of Tanzania in a quieter reserve with reduced tourist numbers, allowing you to truly connect with the nature that surrounds you.
USD 450 per person
You will be picked up from the airport or your hotel and driven to Mikumi National Park. The journey will take about 6 hours. You will stop in Morogoro for some lunch before continuing to the reserve. On arrival, you will begin your afternoon/evening game drive where you will have the chance to see some of the African animals you have come to see. Later you will be brought back to your lodge, Mikumi Bandaz, where you will enjoy a hearty dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast, you will begin your full-day game drive in the park, giving you the chance to see as many animals as you can during your stay in the reserve. You will make your way across the vast plains, providing ample opportunities to spot all manner of creatures in the wide open spaces. You will have lunch at one of the picnic campsites, resting under some shade in the heat of the day. Continuing your game drive until the late afternoon until you make your way to a Masai Village for a taste of Tanzanian culture. Later you will head to Bastian Mikumi Camp for the evening where you can expect a delicious dinner.
An early morning breakfast is followed by your final game drive through the park as you make your way back to Dar es Salaam. You will stop in Morogoro town for lunch and arrive back at your hotel or the airport by mid-afternoon, bringing your safari to a close.
