This is an exceptional primate tour crafted for you to have the best chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park. The short primate tour also includes Bigodi Wetland/Sanctuary guided walk. Kibale Forest National, a magical forest park in Western Uganda, is a 5 to 6 hours drive off from Kampala or Entebbe. There are 13 primate species that are all confined within Kibale National Park and they include among others 1,500 chimpanzees.

Day by Day Overview

On this day, you will meet our guide at the airport for pick up and head to Kibale Forest National Park, the prime destination of this Kibale chimpanzee trek safari tour. To connect up to Kibale, it will take you about 5-6 hours from Kampala via Fort Portal City, where you have lunch en-route. You will check into the lodge at Kibale afterwards for the rest of the evening, relaxation and overnight stay.

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and afterwards be at Kanyanchu for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking rules and regulations. The park office will also put you in different groups each constituting 6 pax, Later be led by a park guide for the chimpanzee tracking experiences, which is expected to take 2-4 hours. This includes one hour each visitor can spend face to face with the chimpanzee community. What makes the chimp trek in Kibale exceptional is that you are also exposed to a diversity of other primates, forest birds, plants, and butterflies.

After an incredible moment with chimps in the wild, have lunch at leisure, and in the afternoon explore Bigodi Sanctuary, home to diverse birds including great blue turacos plus lots of primates. Your guided nature walk experience will expose you to the sanctuary’s distinct species of primates and birds.

Depart Kibale National Park after an early morning breakfast, drive via Fort Portal, Mubende, Mityana then to Entebbe airport.
