Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one of the best places to see the mountain gorilla as well as other primates including red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, baboons, and numerous bird species. You'll also meet local communities living around the park on a village visit.
From USD 1,750 per person
On arrival at either Kigali (Rwanda) or Kampala (Uganda) International Airport, our driver will pick you up. You will then set off on the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a first stop over at the Equator for photographs where you’ll also have breakfast before continuing your journey. There’s another stop over at Agip Motel in Mbarara for lunch. Afterwards continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Rainforest. Filled with primates and many exotic bird species, the most common activities here are gorilla tracking and nature walks.
Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge, Trekkers Tavern, The Haven Lodge, Silverback Lodge, Bakiga Lodge
After coffee at 8 am you will be transferred to the briefing point. Here the park rangers will equip you with guidelines to follow during the tracking. Please make it a point to carry with you a rain jacket, drinking water, packed lunch and trekking boots. A specific gorilla family will be assigned to you to track. In a group of eight people, the park rangers will lead you into the forest to start your trek. Tracking may take between 2 and 5 hours plus an hour of interacting and watching the gorillas. Photograph taking is allowed but while following guidelines (no flash). Return to your lodge for refreshments and lunch. Later in the afternoon, walk around the villages exploring different local communities living around the park.
