Day by Day Overview
Enjoy a cup of African tea/coffee then leave the hotel or airport for a 2-hour Kigali city tour. Visit the Kigali/Gisozi genocide center, craft markets and museum. After lunch set off on the 2-3 hour drive to Volcanoes National Park.
Have a tasty cup of an African coffee or tea, leave the lodge with a packed lunch and bottled water plus perhaps a walking stick or get it at the park offices. Have an orientation about gorilla trekking regulations, then set off at 8:00 am with a group to track the 13 gorilla families habituated in Volcanoes National Park. This will be a wildlife adventure of 2-6 hours which includes one hour with gorillas and afterwards a walk back to relax. Later in the evening, have a cultural visit to Iby’Iwacu village where you will have full evening’s entertainment.
Have the best of your morning breakfast, and afterwards assemble for a golden monkey tracking regulation orientation. The golden monkey trek today will take from 2 to 4 hours and it covers one hour with rare golden monkeys. Walk back, check out of the lodge and return to Kigali.
