Day by Day Overview

Our company driver-guide will pick you up from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi for a scenic 4-hour drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will stop at the spectacular Great Rift Valley viewpoint to stretch your legs and photograph the contrasting landscapes, including Mount Longonot. Afterward, proceed to Nakuru arriving at the park in good time for lunch. Check into your lodge, and after lunch, depart for an afternoon game drive in this gorgeous park. Return to your lodge at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.

Lake Nakuru is among Kenya’s finest parks. The park is gorgeous all year round and boasts rocky escarpments, patches of yellow-barked acacia forest, and a waterfall. It is home to flamingos, both black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, and the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. The forested area below the cliff is a favorite lion-spotting point where lionesses love to sleep in the trees.

Start with an early morning game drive, then return to the lodge for breakfast. You will exit the park and head to Lake Naivasha. This beautiful freshwater Lake in Kenya, just northwest of Nairobi, is home to a large population of hippos, giraffes, wildebeests, and over 400 bird species in the surrounding forest, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.

On arrival, you’ll hop on a boat (optional) for a relaxing ride to see the diverse wildlife, including hippos, in and around the lake. Then, enjoy a short nature walk (optional) on Crescent Island, where the animals are more relaxed around humans, giving you the perfect opportunity to take in the natural beauty and snap up-close selfies. Afterward, proceed for a delicious lunch and, if time permits, visit the nearby Hell’s Gate National Park (optional) for some cycling while looking at the grazing animals. Finally, we’ll head back to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at the airport or your chosen location to end your safari.
