Day by Day Overview
Our representative will meet you at Amritsar International Airport and take you to your hotel. Enjoy the day as you wish, wandering around the beautiful markets or relaxing at the hotel.
In the morning you will have a tour of the Golden Temple and see the holy lake where many devotees take a holy bath. You will see the anchor of Amritsar Gurdwara, where millions of devotees are served free food every day. Later travel to Kangra Valley and pass through the many beautiful rural areas of Punjab and Himachal. Today your destination is Paragpur village which is a beautiful heritage village. It is famous for its distinctive architecture and colourful painted houses. When you arrive, check-in to the hotel and then tour the villages.
After breakfast, make your way out of Paragpur village and begin your journey to Kangra. Today you will cycle for 47-kilometers, crossing the Beas River and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding river valley. Before reaching Kangra, you will pass through the lush green fields and the pine forest of the valley, reaching your destination by noon. After checking in at the hotel, you will visit Kangra Fort. The fort is the oldest fort in India and the largest fort complex in the Himalayan region.
Today you will cycle for 44-kilometers before reaching McLeodganj. You will pass through the beautiful tea gardens in the region and have beautiful views of the Dhauladhar mountain range. McLeodganj is a major hill station in Himachal Pradesh and is a region of the country that has a Tibetan government secretariat. Most famously though, the area is home to the Holy Dalai Lama. After arriving, spend the rest of the day wandering the beautiful markets.
Today you will cycle back through Dharamshala and continue for 55-kilometers to Andretta village. Travel on a quiet rural road and see beautiful views of the surrounding nature. Andretta village is famous for its pottery and the artwork. The village was founded in 1920 by an Irish theater artist and environmentalist, Noora Richards.
Today you will be cycling for 38-kilometres to Joginder Nagar. Pass through Palampur, a beautiful village surrounded by the Dhauladhar mountain range and beautiful tea gardens. Here you will see the Toy Train making its way over the railway tracks that lie between the tea gardens. In Palampur you will be able to visit the Baijnath temple complex which was built in the thirteenth century. Continue your journey and reach Joginder Nagar in the afternoon.
Today you will cycle 54-kilometers and cross the 142-year-old Victoria Bridge into Mandi Town. This small, beautiful town is famous for its 81 temples of Lord Shiva. Here you will be able to see the confluence of the Beas River with the Suketi River and the Uhal River. Spend the evening in the famous Indira Market.
Cycle for 49-kilometres to Larji alongside the banks of the Beas River. On the way, you will pass over the Pandoh Dam and enjoy beautiful views of its reservoir. A beautiful day of scenic cycling as you pass various landmarks and interesting rock features dotted along the way.
Make your way along the Tirthan River on a 33-kilometre journey to Shoja village. Pass through the beautiful Banjar village where you will see its famous wooden shops and beautiful temples. Later make your way through the cedar and oak forests before reaching Shoja. Once you arrive, explore the charming village and interact with some of the locals.
Make your way to Luhri on a 60-kilometre journey through the Jalori Pass. Enjoy amazing views of the surrounding peaks of the Pir Panjal mountain range. At the end of your journey, you will reach the Sutlej River and arrive at the beautiful village for the evening. Enjoy sitting on the banks of the river, watching the beautiful sunset.
Make your way to Narkanda on a challenging 37-kilometre climb as you make your way higher into the mountains. You will be rewarded for your efforts with amazing views and a one hour pit-stop before pushing through to Narkanda. Arrive and be mesmerized by the natural beauty of the area as you spend the rest of the day visiting the Tibetan colonies and observing the beautiful culture.
Today a 64-kilometre journey from Narkanda to Shimla, passing through the many dense forests in this rural area. You will see a lot of apple plantations along the way before arriving in Shimla, a beautiful hill station that was used by the British. Spend the rest of the day wandering around the famous Shimla Mall Road.
Wake up to explore some more of Shimla, called the queen of the mountain. In the afternoon you will go to the railway station and catch a ride on the Toy Train to Kalka. This trainride is a UNESCO World Heritage site and during the journey you will enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. In the evening you will reach Kalka and catch a transfer to your hotel in Pinjore.
Make your way back to Kalka railway station in the morning and catch a train to Delhi. During the journey you will pass through many rural areas and the lush agricultural land of the Haryana State of India. On reaching Delhi in the evening you will be transferred to your hotel and spend the rest of the time wandering around the beautiful markets.
After breakfast you will be taken to Delhi International Airport for your flight home.
