Day by Day Overview

Chao Ban! Welcome to Hanoi, we meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel for check-in. Today is free at your leisure to rest or explore, discover your own first impressions of Vietnam (depending on what time you arrive).

Pick up at your hotel at 7:00 am then drive about 3.5 hours to Ninh Binh and into Cuc Phuong National Park. A visit to the Primate Rescue Center is followed by lunch. Early check into your room if it is available. We enjoy some trekking within the park this afternoon; insect and reptile spotting along the way. Back for dinner before our night-explorations where we venture in search of the jungle’s nocturnal critters and creatures, including civets, owls, large insects, flying squirrels and bats.

You have breakfast at 8:00 am near your guesthouse then some free time to enjoy a morning stroll or some more relaxation before our visit to the Botanical Gardens and the oldest forest in Vietnam. Later, transfer onto Thung Nham Bird Park to take an enjoyable row-boat trip. Rest and have lunch at a local restaurant then return to Hanoi at about 5:30 pm.

An early morning start at 6:30 am from your hotel. Pick up and transfer to the little village of Tan Hoa for your initial safety briefing. You then set off across sweeping fields for 2.5 km to the Rao Nan River, making your way up to the short hill into Rat Cave. Explore 300m in Rat Cave with spectacular calcite stalagmites, then make your way back out for a picnic lunch served next to the river in La Ken Valley. You’ll then climb 150 m increasing in elevation up Lom Com Mountain. Keep going through Flat Rock Peak and make your way to Mango Peak on Mango Mountain. After a quick break, the trek continues down into Tu Lan Valley. Later in the afternoon, we reach our campsite in the Tu Lan valley for a more relaxed note with swimming around the waterfall, then dinner and overnight.

The sounds of nature wake you up for breakfast. There is time for a swim directly into Ken Cave – the longest cave in Tu Lan cave system. Then we return back to camp for more waterfall swimming, rest and picnic lunch. Post-lunch, it’s a 200 m swim into Tu Lan Cave, followed by a 1.5 km trek to Hang Kim where swimming (450 m) and exploration (500 m) continues before adventuring 500 m on through To Mo Valley to the To Mo Cave campsite. Enjoy another beautifully prepared dinner and the unique experience of camping inside a cave set deep in the Vietnamese jungle.

The last day continues to exude adventure and a good balance between trekking and swimming. At 8:00 am, after breakfast, you and the team explore Song Oxalis Cave – a marvelous creature of Tu Lan Cave System. Afterwards, go back to the campsite and enjoy some snacks before getting back on the journey. The guide then leads the team to trek and swim 100 m upstream past the waterfall and through Hung Ton Cave via the exit of the cave. Investigation of the dry passage leads to a 15 m ladder climb up to the entrance of Hung Ton.

The early afternoon holds the return trip across Rao Nan River, the beautiful fields and back to Tan Hoa (2.5 km), where a cold drink is calling your name. Showers are available for those who would like to clean up and change. Head to Phong Nha and then to Dong Hoi where we finish our trip at about 7:30 pm.

After breakfast, depending on your departure, you have some time to visit the city before we take the train to Hue. The driver will drop you at Dong Hoi train station and another car will pick you at Hue train station when you arrive.

Leave your hotel in Hue at 8:00 am to Bach Ma National Park. Travel along National Highway 1A and pass through beautiful landscapes of rice fields, mountains scenery, bamboo ranges and Cau Hai Lagoon. On arrival at the Bach Ma National Park center, have an overview of the park before being transferred to the summit of the mountain at the distance of 20 km. Upon arrival at the summit, you visit Hai Vong Dai by trekking there and catch the panorama view of Lang Co Beach, Cau Hai Lagoon with spectacular sights. On a cool day, the summit is covered by the cloud as paradise. Have lunch at the restaurant.

In the afternoon you continue trekking and walking through the forest on the path to reach Five Lake where you have a swim on pure water of these romantic pools. After that, trek ahead to visit Do Quyen waterfall where has the same name flower at the stream under the waterfall. After that, you walk along the path to reach the road for driver to pick up and drive you to leave the park. We end the day at Lang Co Beach for dinner and overnight.

Wake up on Lang Co Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Asia. At noon, after checking out of the hotel, we start the day through Hai Van pass for a wonderful sight to Danang and on to Hoi An. Arrive at your hotel around 5:00 pm.

We start at 6:30 am from your hotel and head to Cat Tien National Park. After crossing the Dong Nai River, we check-in at the park, meet our local guide and take a break for lunch. After lunch, we take a short army jeep ride (20’) before beginning our hike through the old forests and the crocodile lake. Look around and trek back to the entrance for a jeep ride back to the longhouse at around 7:00 pm. Dinner and sleep at the traditional longhouse in Ta Lai.

Our breakfast is at 7.30 am before today’s hike. Starting from the longhouse, our local guide leads you into the jungle of the Cat Tien National Park. After climbing up to a dormant volcano, you reach the highlight trek – the Bat Cave! Created by the eruption of ancient volcanoes, this cave is an ideal place to observe bats and other nocturnal wildlife. Back to the longhouse at noon for lunch before hitting our road back to HCM City. We are back at your hotel by around 5:00 pm (depending on the traffic condition).
