This safari offers the very best chance to see the spectacular wildlife of Madagascar. Highlights include Isalo National Park with its rock formations, panoramic views and lemurs; a boat cruise on the Tsiribihina River with two nights camping on a sandy bank along the river; discovering the geological formations of Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park; exploring Andasibe National Park to look for the many species of lemur as well as birds and reptiles.

You are most welcome to Madagascar! We will meet you upon your arrival at the International Airport Ivato Madagascar. After formalities, you will transfer to your hotel in Tana.
Overnight: Hotel Lavilette
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Toliara. Upon arrival, get ready for the drive to Ranohira, the gateway to Isalo National Park. On the way we will enjoy the colorful painted Tombs of Mahafaly Tribe of the south area of Madagascar then continue the drive to Ranohira.

After breakfast at the hotel, take a 25 minute drive to the entrance gate of Isalo National Park. Enjoy a long day of discovery, hiking to see the rock formations, the view point with its beautiful panoramic views, continuing the hike to see ring tailed and dancing lemurs then having lunch in the park. Afterwards visit the black pool and the green pool in the canyon of Isalo National Park then head back to hotel.

After breakfast, set off on the drive to Antsirabe. On the way you will have an opportunity to buy the best wine made in Madagascar at Ambalavao before continuing the drive to Fianarantsoa for lunch then on to Antsirabe.
Overnight: Flower Palace
After your early breakfast you will transfer to Miandrivazo and the Tsiribihina River. Enjoy the most beautiful landscape of the highlands, photographing the terraced rice fields and small villages then stopping for lunch at Antsirabe. Continue the drive to Miandrivazo.
Overnight: Arc Enciel Hotel
Depart at around 8 am to the pier of Masiakampy. It takes an hour in the heart of the savannah to get there. The crew of the barge welcomes you as the cruise begin in the morning. You will cross vast cultivated plains, enter into the groves of Tsiribihina River and stop in the village of Sahambano. The camp will be set up a little further down on a large sandbank. The barges are motor barges once used to transport the tobacco, then arranged to transport tourists. At the rear of the barge is the cockpit and the kitchen. Passengers have seats on the lower deck where meals are served.
Overnight: Full board camping on sandy beach along Tsiribihina River
The barge continued its navigation in the heart of the meanders of the River Tsiribihina. You will come across boatmen, barges and motor freight destined for local product and a means of transport and exchange for the villagers as well as herds of zebu cattle that cross the river. Along the way you stop at Begidro village (which housed tobacco concessions) and Berevo which has a dispensary run by nuns. The landscape includes cliff bats, giant capoquiers and rice fields. At the end of this day see birds such as herons, teal, knob-billed duck as the crew will find a sandbar for the camp.
Overnight: Full board camping on sandy beach along Tsiribihina River
The village wish you a safe journey as the barge continues on its way west. Along the way we see the first baobabs. Lunch on board the barge before the journey ends around noon at Belo sur Tsiribihina. After disembarking, there’s a 3-hour drive along a bumpy road to Bekopaka and a ferry crossing at Manambolo River. Late afternoon arrival in Bekopaka.
Overnight: Oechidea of Bemaraha Hotel
Enjoy a long day tour to discover the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Pirogue ride along the Manambolo river to observe the limestone walls. Then hike through the forest to see the geological formation, the large Tsingy. We cross the cathedrals of limestone through the great fault and move between the various caves to reach several view points. If we are lucky can meet Decken’s sifaka. Have a picnic lunch in the park.
Overnight: Oechidea of Bemaraha Hotel
Today is a long drive back to Kirindy followed by an introductory nature walk in the forest to observe endemic red-fronted brown lemurs, sifaka and other endemics in this dry deciduous forest. Birds and reptile species here are also abundant. Take a night walk to look for nocturnal lemurs and their predator, the fosa.
Overnight: Kinrindy Lodge
After an early breakfast, depart for a long picturesque drive back to the highlands and overnight in Antsirabe.
Overnight: Antsirabe
Today we will enjoy the haut plateau landscape from Antsirabe to Tana, the most beautiful scenery of valleys and agriculture landscape. Lunch in Tana then drive down to the eastern part of Madagascar, Andasibe.
Overnight: Le Goyave or similar, breakfast included
Today is long day exploring Andasibe National Park including Analamazaotra Special Reserve to see the largest lemur species in Madagascar, the indri indri. Also discover birds, snakes and frogs as you enjoy the primary rain forest and secondary forest as well as brown lemurs and red belt lemurs. Drive back to the hotel for lunch. Afterwards visit Lemurs Island or Vakona Reserve to see more lemurs such as diadem sifaka, bamboo, red ruffed, black and white ruffed, ring tailed and common brown lemurs.

Today you will drive back to Tana enjoying the picturesque scenery, tropical rain forest and villages on the way. We will stop at the reptile reserve of Peryeras to see the most rare species of chameleons in Madagascar, geckos and snakes. Continue the drive to Antananarivo and transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
