You will be picked up by one of our representatives at the airport and taken to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for the start of your safari.
In the morning you will make your way to Lake Magadi, the southernmost of the great lakes. Drive along the famous Ngong Mountains into the Great Rift Valley and pass Olorgesaille, a famous archaeological site in East Africa. It was here that archeologists discovered fossils of early hominids and the world’s largest collection of fist wedges and hand axes used by primitive man. Arrive at Lake Magadi and enjoy a picnic lunch at the Soda Ash hot springs. Enjoy beautiful sightings of the flamingo colonies with numerous pelicans and other water birds. In the late afternoon you will make your way back to Nairobi.
Today you drive to Lake Naivasha where you will be taken to Crescent Island on a tour that takes you exploring both the lake and the island with all their bird and animal life. Enjoy sightings of an impressive array of wildlife including gazelle, foxes and even python. The boat will take you back to Lake Naivasha Country Club where you will have lunch. Spend the rest of the day at leisure before enjoying a sundowner and some dinner.
After breakfast you will head to Lake Elmenteita where you will go on a hike to the ‘Sleeping Warrior’, a hill with a profile of a sleeping Maasai warrior. On the shores of the lake you will be able to watch the many pelicans that are found here.
After breakfast you will continue your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park that was created to protect the huge flamingo population. Enjoy sightings of waterbuck, zebra and even rhino on the banks of the lake as you head out on your afternoon game drive. The park is home to an impressive array of wildlife, all of which you have the opportunity of seeing. Head back to your lodge for dinner in the evening.
In the morning you will make your way to Lake Bogoria National Reserve where you will find hot springs amongst the dark lava rocks. Observe the many flamingos, bee-eaters, kingfishers and rhino-birds among the other feathered inhabitants. You can also see kudu and buffalo in the reserve. Later make your way to your lodge at Lake Baringo.
Enjoy breakfast and beautiful views of the lake with its islands in the changing light of the sunrise. Lake Baringo is the second largest freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley. There are over 450 species of birds in and around the area. Crocodiles and hippos are also frequently spotted. The lake is also home to local fishermen who navigate the waters in their wooden boats. Keep an eye out for the African fish eagles that can often be seen in the branches of the trees lining the shores of the lake. After a full day of exploring the lake you will head back to your lodge for the evening.
Today you will drive over the rift and make your way to Kabernet before continuing to the Chebloch Gorge. Drive through the Kerio Valley with its breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and pass through some traditional Pokot villages. Make your way to your lodge with its amazing views of the valley and enjoy going paragliding if you choose.
After breakfast you will continue your journey to Kitale at the foot of Mount Elgon. You can visit the mountain or enjoy a coffee tasting at the Cranes Camp. Enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure before dinner.
In the morning you will make your way to the local airstrip for your flight to Lodwar. When you land you will be taken to Eliye Springs on the shores of Lake Turkana, the largest desert lake in the world. You will be staying in a hotel that is modeled after the traditional straw huts of the Turkana tribe. In the afternoon you will visit the nearby fishing village for an educational visit on how the locals have fished for centuries.
After breakfast you will make your way to the north of the lake. Head to the bay of Kalokol and walk through one of the traditional villages of Turkana. Visit a boma and discover some of the fascinating body jewelry the locals make. You will also visit the old Spanish mission station with its beautiful gardens in Nariokotome. The town is famous for the discovery of a 1.6 million year-old skeleton of a Homo Erectus hominid.
In the middle of Lake Turkana there are three volcanic islands which you will visit after breakfast. Discover the three crater lakes on the island, namely Crocodile Lake, Flamingo Lake and Tilapia Lake. Enjoy a full day as your explore these beautiful lakes and the surrounding landscapes.
After breakfast you will have the chance to relax and enjoy the last day of your safari. Stroll along the beach of the lake and take in some sun. On request, guests can enjoy a massage at the resort or a fishing trip. In the afternoon you will go a sundowner boat cruise before heading back in the evening for dinner.
An early wake up to head back to Lodwar airstrip for your flight to Nairobi via Kitale. Upon arrival in Nairobi you will be taken to the international airport for your outbound flight.
